Hey guys, it's me again. So last time I was here, I didn't know where to go next but thank you about the 1/5/10 strategy. I still don't have a job for a vocational program(more on that later), but I'm asking around the neighbors if they need help, it was daunting at first but I push through.

Anyways going to the meat part, so me and my mom both agree that I should be in a vocational program due to my disability(autism), and well it's been months(since November) and we're in the process of me going to interviews if to see if I'm qualified. The bright side is I get a job with benefits, but the downside is everything is getting more expensive, time is flying by, another downside is that I don't go outside(since I live in the middle of nowhere) and also getting a side hustle outside is slow. I am getting less patient, and about to get a job outside just to help out and to become more independent. I'm feeling impatient, to those in a similar situation from California(idk if other states or country has this) what do you do in this situation? Should I get a job or wait a few more months til they take me in?

Doing things while being neurodivergent is tough- when you say autistic, about how deep into the spectrum are you?

I only have ADHD (shallow end of the spectrum) but it was definitely some work to get to overcome social and other difficulties growing up and then now as a freelancer that has to sell himself and network and be "extroverted". The good news is that you're most likely have a higher IQ than average and you can definitely get some benefits by putting work into your weak areas through practice. I know for me I was absolutely godawful at empathy and social cues for a long time until I started putting myself out there after I turned 18 and getting into social situations. You may also have a profound ability to focus and demolish problems when you put yourself to it.

You mentioned living in Cali, Cali does have a steep CoL but that also means that people also expect to spend more money for services or items- so say you did mow lawns or power washed some driveways, you could do decently well. Do you struggle with authority and seek a living that allows you to be more independent, or do you want the stable vocational income so you can work on a long-term business outside of it?

Best of luck man, we're rooting for you.
