I hate it when Im wrong, everytime I start shooting off my mouth....

That gap down was a clue. anybody else see that gap down below 1.33 last night?

I find it Ironic that I do really well when I don't talk to others about forex but then I start missing the minute I do,

For the 1000 NY/1500 GMT cut:
EUR/USD: 1.3100, 1.3200 (L), 1.3275, 1.3280, 1.3300, 1.3350, 1.3400

Strong hourly support at 1.3260ish. Down any lower and its all over. Will the Franky fake live up to it's name?

That gap down was Junker's Jawboning. http://www.businessinsider.com/euro-plunge-on-juncker-comments-2013-1
Damn algorithims scan the headlines and trade auto matically based on key words such as the headline of the article. and "dangerously high" I wonder if these guys have options down low?
Musta heard I was long.... Thats why I need to keep my mouth shut.

Havent heard much from him, Usually it's Draghi, Good cop bad cop maybe?

Well traps are set and off to work. Damn job keeps getting in the way of making money but got mouths to feed. My employer has decided I need to work ten more hours a week to make the same money. Something about salesmen work more hours than merchandisers. guess the concept of effeciency eludes them. I would much rather wait til the rest of asia shuts dwon to make my call. CPI out this morning and optionss suggest it will blow for USD. The sharks are gonna battle it out today for sure. I think the franky fake will live today.

Triple swap wednesday today. More for you ozzie traders, Havent had time to look at Oz though. Hard enough to keep up with UncleBenny and the Jetts.

How's everyone's trading going? I see some of you are going to Beer and pancakes as well. Hope your trading paid for it.

I made some serious inroads and insights on my trading. Looking forward to 2013. Its going to be a banner year at the ^eagle^ manor.

My trading has been moving along pretty well. Need to work on letting profits run because I tend to have a quick trigger when it comes to locking in profits. Numerous times I have closed positions early only to see them continue to my original profit taking level. So now after I take 1st profit and move to break-even I will let price retrace back to +15 pips before I will close the position.

Good to hear willy mo. Today was whipsaw crazy on the e/u. My traps all broke even. One thing to remeber is that you can never g broke taking profit.

I hit a lot of break even trades bec ause of the way I trade its very important to lock in BE as soon as possible. If I had more time to watch I could fine tune my TP as the news changed. today i expected to be quite a struggle. we got a wedge forming on e/u with a stronger downside. Soemthing is going to spring tomorrow possibly with USD employment change. Ozzie uneployment up in an hour. Time to break out one of my tools and see if I can get some pips. Usually have decent pulls on the oz during news. I only trade news with the oz. I expect some downside. bIG BARRIER AT 1.06 better get set up in a hurry.

The trap is set. lets wait and see. Look mom! No hands!

Nope! Minus six pips. A twenty pip spike for the event. Not enough oomph.

I often play on the roulette.

It's not roullete when you can stack the odds 80 to 90% in your favor. I think roulltte is the worst game at the casino with the odds like 48%. The best one is craps at 51%

I like to stack the odds as high as I can.

Anyone have any thoughts on the YEN?

No time to watch the yen. Plus a lot gets lost in translation with those guys so a wing tip shoed banker can say something that gets translated wrong. Such was the case yesterday.

From what I understand its always a good bet tp go against the yen when its high. They like to keep their currency low for exports. the yuan is even worse. But not enough timew to follow up and stack the odds.

Thanks. That's what I'm thinking. They've tried to devalue it numerous times but I think they'll do what they have to this year to make sure it continues it's slide. I don't trade forex but I have a related bet on some call options. I'm banking on a weaker yen. We'll see.

This week has been crazy. The markets seem out of whack. I usually time my entries with the usdx, but this week it has been in a tight range. The cable has made lower lows and the fiber has failed to match which usually corresponds to higher prices. I will be remaining flat until price tells me where it is trying to go.

Yeah I agree. All my trades except my one loser have broke even. Not going to look good on the report. Here's to a new week. E/u wipsawed all week. Always got stopped out on the 23 fib bounce on every trade. North or South. Then GFs birthday at the end of the week so I was Flat as well.

Im starting a free Forex Trading room. Anyone regardless of experience is welcome to join. We will be discussing trading strategies relating to forex, commodities, and indices.

Skype me as Nick Shappell' (there's an apostrophe there. apparently there is another Nick Shappell, Probably my second cousin.) And we can share contact info. The room will be open 24/7. It's a great way to get to know each other. I learned a lot from trading rooms as opposed to combing through the usual forums.

My trading didn't progress until I started going to trading rooms and see what people were doing in real time. The forums didn't get it for me.

If you are new I will give you a free PDF to point you in the right direction in this exciting trading world. I have been beaten up and abused trying to navigate this world. Some allude to the forex world as the Wild West of trading. It is true. But once you figure it out it becomes very profitable.

Is this your actual experience having great returns or is this academic knowledge speaking?

You tell me. I decided that if I don't have any credibility Ill make some noise. Just added another 8.58% to my account in less than an hour.

Since I have no credibility I decided to help a few people for free to expand that credibility.

Sorry I don't follow - the middle sentence contradicts the other two. I really wanted to finally meet someone who had successfully made a living consistently through forex.

I personally do not make a living at forex. My account is too small. im working on changing that. But my equity growth is good. You have to reach a threshold on your equity where you can make more than you pull out . one guy i know switched to futures since he reached a certain amount. Currency futures are centralized. But the movement is the same. i have only met two that i could verify that they trade for a living. One does futures and the other does forex. I learned the most from the guy who trades futures.

sorry about the writing in the above post. I wrote it from my smart phone and I got fat fingers. anyway I have started posting at forex factory detailing how I trade. I could do better if time permitted. For a part time blue clollar guy I think I'm doing pretty good.

When I go full time I think Ill have credibility.

^eagle^'s trading method @ Forex Factory

Here's the thread I started. It doesn't get the following I think because I make them google the items I use for fundamental analysis. I really didnt want to even post the link here because I want people who really want to learn. Not tire kickers.

But most of my thoughts are there. I just wish I had more time to trade. I'm at 81% now since I opened this new account in august of last year. Just gotta be picky really. I stay away from london open. I find the volatility there is crazy and I cant always get up that early.

Hi guys!

I just wanted to drop by because long story short I attempted to create value in a business and failed many times. It just didn't feel right for some reason.

It just so hapenned that I stumbled upon forex around 11/12 and it basically took my soul HAHA. Sure this wasn't anywhere near my passion but it sure as hell felt RIGHT with my personality.
I've been a system/strategy jumper, sometimes staying up days to read different methods. Ended up realizing it was a total waste of time and found that price action with just S/R levels on the daily TF suited my personality. I just found that I really enjoyed it and am happy that I have found the Forex market. It might not be considered fastlane to many, but hey its definitely better than my other job I'll tell you that much...

I was one of of the many who rode out the USD/JPY EUR/JPY and GBP/JPY to death LOL. Might jump back on if price indicates it.

Looking forward to all the good and bad stories :)

I would also like to know what Forex trading platform is recommended as well. Trading the currency ETF's (FXE,FXA, etc) isn't very liquid as it only trades during market hours.

I've used OANDA for amateur trading for several years. They do things a little differently than other Forex brokers, like telling them to stay out of the markets when they might get wiped out:

Oanda to Clients: Stay Out of Currency Markets - MarketBeat - WSJ

They use a Java app as their trading software, so you don't have to install anything. You can open a very small account, it use to be $10. They also have demo accounts that do not expire. I've haven't been active in forex since I got wiped out doing carry trades in 2008. "I can only get wiped out if banks stop borrowing money!", I said.

I lost my shirt 3 times on forex :(

First time was the gbp/yen crash 2008
Second time was the same reloaded.. Didnt learn did I!!!
Third time was few months ago on the gold crash!

Apart from getting wiped out on the crashes as I seem to be on the wrong side, I actually do ok. May have another crack on silver and gold but I dont have many fingers left...

I trade for a living. I trade various markets such as stocks, futures, forex and options. basically I trade anything that moves since my trading system works in all markets. The Forex market is very competitive and in the short term is based of technical price movements. It is also based on fundamnentals such as interest rate changes and other factors which we as traders have no control over. If you aren't familiar with advanced technical analysis (not just basic 50 and 200 moving averages and the rest of the out dated junk the "guru's try to sell people) and how the market framework functions, you should stay out of forex and trading in general. You also always MUST use hard stop loss orders in Forex since this market is ultra leveraged. It's smart not to use most of the provided leverage since this reduces your wiggle room that you can give trades significantly. Since you trade against your broker many times in Forex its not easy if you don't have a strategy with a positive expectancy. Brokers will say this is the largest market in the world and therefore the most liquid which certainly is true, however this liquidity comes with a hefty price tag of many professionals who are waiting for suckers to dip their toe into the forex market so they can bite it off.
