Hi, My name's Kevin Turnbull from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Me, my dad and my brother have been working on a business concept for about a year now. We've got a technology which we can use to decrease production time (which is a major factor in production cost) for products in our market to almost a third of normal.
We've won a contest at a local university for a business plan based loosely on this idea (ignore the sensors and so forth that was purely to mold to the scope of the competition). If you're interested see the following links (PS: It's always my brother quoted, it's usually my writing though)

Our key problems are:
1: Our total available finances (maxing out credit cards and all other sources) is only about $17k
2: We have no sources of income
3: Our monthly personal expenses are ~3.5k
4: We have no space available for full scale production
5: We have no experience managing teams of people as would be required
Our problem is a general lack of knowledge with regards to business. With the exception of myself, we're a very science driven family who wants to build a large scale facility (or chain of facilities) capable of supplying at least the Canadian market with propagated (as opposed to ocean caught) coral, marine shrimp and fish. Doing this has had us spinning our wheels for the past two or so months trying to clean up our home and convert the basement into a start-up lab where we can do more intensive testing on our process.
How can we accelerate faster. Hopefully avoid the upcoming dead-broke deadline with some early revenue? How can we seek out pre-sales and does anyone with experience mind helping me to map out some of the major milestones that we should aim for on a roughly 12 month timescale?
One major factor I'm loath to mention is that the 17k available is scraping the bottom of a 25k line of credit and we've been thus far unable to find any other sources for financing.
Any other ideas, comments, suggestions or other feedback are both welcome and highly appreciated.
