I would like to know if you guys had any insights to share about pricing models? My business (outlined in my INSIDERS progress thread in my signature) is based on getting companies to sign up and I present those companies in a marketplace app I have built and then consumers will buy from those companies in my app.
My current pricing model is to not have a monthly fee to not dissuade companies from joining since I don't yet have users (nor companies) in my marketplace. I have a percentage based model to be able to use the marketing message of "i get paid only if you get customers".
What do you think of this kind of model, might it be better to use a combination/just monthly?
Percentage: 12% on each sale with no monthly price.
Vs.
Combination: Monthly fee, no percentage fee up to X amount of $ sold afterwhich percentage sets in ("unused no percentage" roll over to next month).
Vs.
