University doesn't have to be "the path of a slowlaner," if you choose not to have that outcome. There's nothing wrong with having a job, if you have a clear short to mid-term exit strategy toward a business.
I mean, you still have a job, don't you? Except now, you're relegated to the shittiest jobs which rarely pay enough to invest in a business and leave you too physically exhausted to think about a business.
Having a professional job for some time can also be a great training in the inner workings of a business. Operations, dealing with clients and whatnot.
One of the biggest benefits of attending AND graduating from college is the ability to start, stick with and finish something difficult. This is a non-negotiable skill in entrepreneurship.
I don't think anyone absolutely has to go to college today, as long as they have a decent high school education. What will set people apart is their individual drive to make things happen and sticking with it.
