I finished the book a little while ago. Not only did I learn what I needed to but MJ's style of writing was enjoyable and kept me interested. I respond best to people that are straight shooters so this has been my favorite business book I've read. I had my first fastlane idea about half way through the book. From that point on it became really fun because I was learning as well as watching my idea check out along the way.

I read the book. It was great and I like the cover. The layout is clean and eyecatching. The colors are current and support the subject. The white line, auto, and road at an angle successfully draw the eye to the title. The choice of fonts works very well. Like the author's writing style, the cover design is clear, clean, to the point.

Now that there are a several thousand copies out there, this is the thread to let me know that you've read the book. If you read the book, post here and you will get an icon under your screenname and additional forum privileges. (Private forum, more PM storage, etc.)

Thanks, MJ

Read the book and tweeted @ you on twitter (@andrewgale) also emailed you for some advice. Great book!

I did wonder if it was going to be just another self help book with some of the overplayed NLP nonsense of 'you can do anything if you think it'. Well, I wanted to race Formula 1...

I believe it is not possible to be successful doing something one hates. The business idea has to be founded on something you enjoy, BUT you have to package it into the right business (i.e., it has to be scalable, etc.) and you must have business and finance moxie. Otherwise, there is just another store on the web with homebaked cookies.

I chose something I enjoyed and spun it into a business, which I sold 5 years after inception.

While reading the book I was shocked at how many of the concepts aligned with my previous beliefs. The people in my life are slowlaners and sidewalkers, without this book I would have not realized that. They have been slowly getting me to believe getting loans to finish school, or get a higher degree is the right step. Things I highly opposed too but did anyway because my parents believed this was the key to success. With this book I'm back on the path I knew was right, but was previously dragged off.

Read the book, loved the book. Working on starting my site!

This was one of those moments where you stop and go, I KNEW I wasn't crazy. This book is like the layout of everything I've been hearing preached and taught, while going wtf, that is never even going to make you get past making the bills next month let alone rich.

I'm not insane, I'm not insane, I'm not crazy!!!!

Learning to not care that 99.9% of the world in fact thinks I AM insane... because I don't want to live like them, why think like them, why act like them?

Whatever grandpa, you better just hope I mow you down in my Lambo that costs more than your house with the custom paint job that costs more than your car.... cuz the $2 million in "riches" you saved up the last 40 years is about to run out next week, because everybody forgot to tell you, you aren't actually rich, you're broke and always have been!

Finished the book a week ago. Makes me wonder why so many people still settle for 'mediocre' but it really motivates me knowing the things I've wanted for some time might not be impossible after all!

I started the book just the other day and am about 3/4 of the way through. The book is great and I am honestly trying to put the principles to work and build a business for myself. Unfortunately, while I can incorporate through workarounds and such, many of the principles in the book do not apply to me as I am not even yet of the legal age to file for income tax (I'm fifteen, sixteen in about 3 months lol). However, thanks again for the great read that, hopefully, will be applied soon!

After reading the Millionaire Fastlane, I realized that I'm on the slow lane. It would have been nice to read this or a related book before registering for the California bar exam. Now I'm stuck taking the exam this coming July.

Maybe I should be writing books to sell or get a ghost writer. I love to travel and have been flying between the east and west coast. Writing books and teaching seminars sounds like it would be a great business. Anyone have information on getting into it?

I'm going back to re-read the commandments. I definitely need to impact millions and not the Bernie Madoff way.

Thanks for writing an excellent book.

Thx for uncovering the truth

Thx for uncovering the truth MJ. I recently watched a video where the guy said that Napoleon Hill who wrote Think and Grow Rich spend most of his life broke despite the knowledge he accumulated. They actually have evidence, they say the companies try to hide that stuff. I was surprised.
I think you should write more books like that where you give people kick in the butt and tell them to wake up.

About a week ago I woke up in the middle of the night totally worried about my finances; where they are, where they "should" be, where I'd love them to be. I mentally ran through all my investments and realized - holy crap...yea I'm doing so-so but at this rate, getting rich ain't gonna happen quick if ever. I was having a quiet, mental freakout. I never really thought about how slow traditional investment vehicles can be. Afterall, I was following the slowlane brainwashing up to this point.

Later that day, started checking out Amazon.com for no apparent reason and came across The Millionaire Fastlane courtesy of Amazon's "You might like this..." I skimmed a lot of reviews and was compelled to buy the book.

Was glued to it ever since and just finished reading it this morning. It's now my friggin Bible. The Mrs. is going to read it next.

Big thanks.

Great read! It was at times a wake up call to some unconscious bad habits, but it also gave me a lot of hope, as I've also had my share of ups and downs on the entrepreneurial drive.

I really like how you emphasize freedom as a goal over love of money. Definitely to the point!

Read the book. Love the book. I have a question I was hoping someone could answer.

1. I am not a true fastlaner yet. I am here to learn and contribute to the community, but don't know if it's appropriate to give feedback or advice to others on this forum who may be way ahead of where I am currently at. I feel I have a lot to learn but also a lot to offer as I have had some successes and failures in my endeavors. I don't want to be a broke know it all or be a paradox of practice. Is it ok to comment even though I'm a newbie?

Read the book, loved the book, working on my fast-lane business :)

PS: I loved how MJ Demarco put everything into perspective and gave such a great overview of how things work (wealth & money wise)

Have a great day everyone.

I would say that if your feel you have something to contribute or have a question, then by all means. But then, I'm pretty new here. As long as you abide by the rules, you'll find this a nice place.

I recently found the book thanks to an interview on Pat's podcast and loved it. Without that introduction I probably would have dismissed it because of the title, as a "yet another get rich fast" book with loads of fluff and none (or very little) useful info.

However the book turned out to be anything but and after I finished it I gave it to my sister, who found it extremely motivational in her current situation.

Great job MJ at providing down to earth, no bullshit advice, and exposing some of the get-rich industries paradoxes.

Finished it! Thank you for a great book and all the insight it has provided. Worth so much more than the price of the book...

Before this book I always felt a high paying slowlane job or making money through real estate were my only options, and neither of those were really my thing. It was very refreshing to learn of so many other options out there and to learn new ways of thinking. I especially liked the decision matrix. I had never heard of that but I think that one will really come in handy some day when I have a big decision to make. Now to find an idea that will work for me and get on with with the execution!

Finished it yesterday. From spending time on the forum I had already a good grasp of what a fastlane business should be but the book really cleared a lot of things up for me. One thing in particular that stood out for me was that some things I already kind of knew but they never really "clicked" until somebody wrote in down for me in a particular way.

It will be a great tool in the coming years as I hope to build my current business.

I just got the book, and have not put it down until now to write this comment:
"I've never been more excited about finishing a book - EVER!!!"

Well, ...back to the book....!!!!

...Talk to you soon

I read the book! Now I am reading it again to find things that I missed. I need that logo!

I think MJ may be getting backlogged here........ lol

This is the book I needed 20 years ago. I can't tell you how many rules/laws I've violated along the way. I've learned a number of these through the years, but the price I had to pay in lost money, time, and personal anguish has been huge. Now that I've got all this information in one place I plan on using the crap out of it to get onto the real fast-lane. I may not be a kid anymore, but my dreams are still alive and I'm going for it. Thanks M J DeMarco

Nope, just caught up, all icons added!

This is the book I needed 20 years ago.

That is why I wrote it. This is the book I needed when I was 18 and diving into entrepreneurship. Thanks!! (You snuck in under the radar, added your icon.)
