I read it!

I loved it, it is valuable and yet I was sceptical all along.

Not all ideas, businesses turn into millionaire businesses, but only a few. During all the reading, I could not prevent myself from thinking, "OK, that is a great book, with a lot of valuable stuff, but com' on, if a framework is enough to make millions, there will be more than a few millionaires... MJ DeMarco had this "limo" opportunity, after xx years looking around, paying attention, I could not figure out one (maybe I needed that book to change my mind)... luck put the limo stuff on his path, should I accept every little job to get the chance to see 1 business opportunity?"

So this read is a big mix between "Hooray, that's awesome, well written, no bullshit (I liked the guru sections)" and "Okay but what's next. Should I go in the street and ask people what they hate in the world so I can fix it? Please do not reply war or death or disease or starvation..."

I think chapter 36 is a bit short. I would love to know more about that, since I think it's what causes inactivity in guys like me.
  • How do you find opportunities (any particular books/shows/places where you've seen it the most)?
  • How to you quickly recognize an opportunity meets the fastlane road?
  • I am struggled with people in slowlane/sidewalk, how do I get to the other people? How do I get accepted? It looks like and I've seen it in several places and here too, that entepreneurs hate people that doubt or are sceptical.
  • Millionnaires also come from the changes, how do you know/recognize the next big thing? Today, isn't Internet too crowded and full of services? Should not we look somewhere else? Internet of things? See my point?
Maybe that's the focus of Unscripted , that I'll start soon.

I am the kind of guys asking himself a lot of questions and not following blindly what others are saying and for sure I mean no disrespect in anything I write/say. I value communication and opinions and I hope here is the place where I will be able to express my doubts as long as my cheers.

I have read TMF two times, it was an eye-opener to how my life will be if I don't take control of it.
Thanks MJ for writing the book!

I listened to this book on audible whilst i was in the air heading toward dubai from the uk. I loved it. Other people were watching movies whilst i was enjoying this book. I could understand first hand and relate to some of the examples the author describes and he gets them bang on! because ive experienced them first hand myself. MJ truly tells it as it is.

I've read the millionaire fast lane and it blew me away. I've read the 4-hour work week before and that did open my mind to the concept but the millionaire fast lane was so concrete and actionable that it kicked my a$$ to action.

Read the book !! not sure how to put it but this book has changed my outlook completely . I was a typical slowlaner (I am from India) like majority of my country men are (thanks to Socialist/communism influence till 1991) . Working to build something fruitful side by side my crappy J(Just)O(Over)B(broke) .

Things I loved about the book :
- Principal of CENTS(TFM) or CENTS(Unscripted ).
- The Chuma Story
- Exposing Fake guru,Job and Compound interest .
-Candid writing style
- Honesty of the author ...best trait of M J in my opinion .
-The Process principal ..most important portion
-'Follow your passion' is wrong/dangerous advice .

What's the point on reading the book a lot of times?
The point is to get the concepts stuck in your head so you don't forget them. There is no point of reading a book and forgetting everything, what a complete waste of time. Or if you don't want to re-read a book, take notes.

Also I have read both books a while ago. My short review is it's a good book. Interestingly 60% felt like I was reading Rich dad poor dad (not a bad thing just saying), but definently the most important chapter was "Chapter 30 the commandmant of need" this is where I went wrong, thinking about my goals and what I want to achieve. I did feel like this chapter should of been iterated a bit more as I found it so crucial.

What's the point on reading the book a lot of times?

To me it is a fair question.
I always ask myself whether I should read again some books or not.

See, when you read a book several times, it is a lot of time that you can spend reading some other books, that would bring new ideas, new concepts, new insights, new anything... while reading the same book does not.
On the other hand, when you read a book, you don't remember more than 10% (and I think I am nice) of the book, so reading it again and again could help make sure you remember it.

I prefer not to read a book twice, but to take notes. The more books I read, the more insights I get. The idea is to know in which book to go to find the information when I need it, because if you don't remember the content, you remember the topic and the main idea of the book. Note that you cannot remember what you don't know and what you have never approached.

Cheers.

MJ,
I have read the UNSCRIPTED and The Millionaire Fastlane . There are mind blowing. Where were you all these years that I have been searching in the dark for books that like these? I am now a follower. These books should be in the school curriculum but I bet you the cronies will not allow them. The great journey has just began.

Where does one even begin with this beast of a book? It is a proper tome. Not a wasted word to be found. The word expansive comes to mind. I have never loved a book so much. The R.O.I. on this book was out-of-this-world. I have read it, front to back, at least 8 times. I have listened to the audiobook, front to back, at least 10 times (the version you had to download from the Viperion website before it became available on iBooks audiobook section.) The audiobook came in handy during daily drives, running errands and during long cardio sessions at the gym. Highly recommended.

I first read TMFL mid-2013. It was almost as if future me wrote it to me at that time. The way it was written was as MJ has said in countless interviews written as if he was writing to his younger self. No fluff, just golden nuggets, in a writing style that resonated deeply with me. Thanks, MJ!

There is so much I can say about this life-changing book; however, I will leave it at this. I don't want to come across as bloviating.

Everything that can be said, has indeed been said.

I'm just excited to be part of this forum.

NOTE TO SELF: It is about time.

It is worth mentioning how I first discovered this book. It was after watching and listening to multiple MJ interviews and then watching TMFL book reviews.

That's a good answer, thank you.
