Estonia is an EU and NATO member, I think their prospects of facing military oppression are rather slim at the moment.

And since OP is from France which is also an EU country, him moving to Estonia would not differ much from an American moving from one state to another.

And English is widely spoken in Estonia, French not so much but OP seems to cope fine with English.

I still think OP should probably just move back home for now but there is nothing wrong or scary about moving to Estonia in itself.
No, it's not great to be next door to Russia. Estonia is a full NATO member but it has a very heavy ideological burden about defending itself from Russia, unlike anything Americans can fathom with the exception of our most diehard, corn fed flag-worshipping militants. The Finnish never had the burden of the Defense League. The Russian border is 125 miles from the capitol, and Estonians will never be laid back about that. France actually sent 300 tanks there in the past year.
From time to time there's an oppressive pro-military pall when Russian or pro-Russians skirmish in nearby EU countries. Problems in Ukraine and Georgia put Estonians on edge.
Getting back to the OP's moving there, without question it would be rough.

No one speaks French and the fact is that few speak adequate English. Knowing fifty words of vocabulary does not get you far. So it's simply not the case that he'd get by without speaking Estonian, Latvian, or Russian.
Spoken Estonian is quite difficult to learn. It's nothing like English. The alphabet alone will stonewall you.

Why take on the hassle of a foreign language and approaching winter in the sub-arctic?
On the other hand, there would be amazing gains if OP could go and live with the Sami!

I have been living next to door to Russia my whole life and have visited Estonia every now and then since the Soviet times. I will stay in my opinion that moving there or spending time there is just another good option nowadays (for people in general, not necessarily for OP in his current situation), nothing hard or scary about it in itself. But of course anyone is free to disagree.

Imagine you're 70 years old, talking to your grandchildren about your past.

"I got kicked out, made my own way, and grew a business. I was a real man".

or

"I said sorry to my mommy and she took me back in. I became an accountant and I wish I didn't live life like a pussy. Now I'm too old".

Have some balls and find a place to sleep tonight. Hope it isn't too cold under the overpass. Let it be ingrained into your brain just how far you're willing to go to make it happen for yourself.

Time to go make some money. Remind yourself for the rest of your life to be as motivated as you'll be tomorrow morning.
Lol I really enjoy your progress thread with the lawn care biz, but sometimes you have a bit more testosterone than sense.

Good luck finding work when homeless. Most places want your address. Even customer wise they want you to be clean and smart.

How do you do that living below an underpass?

How do you take and respond to customer messages? Those cafes won't let you hang around for free wifi forever.

Especially once you start looking homeless and you will.

he could be homeless in france but nut in estonia.. depends on his income.. but he doesnt answer that. even 500€ + some freelance work would have a great impact for his dreams.

also - as i read his post - he did finish high school - he just doesnt want to go to university now. that isnt a world ending catastrophy. maybe he changes his mind and will go next year - and has some storys to tell.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for not answering, I've been busy these days. I was suprised about how many replies this thread got, this forum is a gift from God. I did not finish high school. This is the last year (I guess you call it the senior year?). I am currently in 2 weeks of school holiday.

I managed to make amends with my mother. I sleep during night time at home but during the day, I still go outside. I have tried to find a job during the weekend, going from restaurant to restaurant holding my resumé in my hands and giving it to anyone I can. I guess it won't work because everyone's reply was something like: ''This is the end of the season, so there won't be many customers wandering around''.

I will give you more of my backstory, I have been born in Romania and raised there until 2012. I was 11 years old about to turn 12 and my mother decided to move to France with me alongside her. My father stayed in Romania, and I have no contact with him, only when I get back to Romania once every two years. My father is still a boy in his head, so my mother took the lead. She plays both roles now.

The only issue is that I hate high school. In France, we have the possibility to chose the "profile" we want to be in. There is litterature, economics and science. I have chosen science based on what my mother wanted me to become, a medical doctor. At that time, when we had to chose our profile, I didn't know what I want to become in the future, so I agreed to go along that path. Now I hate it. I used to be great in maths, I have the mental capacity, I guess, to get really good grades. And telling my mom that I don't want to go to the uni, it made her angry. I have the mental capacity and I waste it. In class, I just wait for the day to end, so I can get back home. Sometimes I wonder if I have misunderstood, or watched too much of these videos where a guru tries to explain that school is made to "create factory workers". And as you guess, I have taken that pretty seriously, probably because it was fitting with my lazy mindset. I realise that what I am doing is not right, but I feel like I can't stop my laziness. I get back home, and I feel so drained that I am incapable of doing my homework.

My 2 friends think the same. One of them has recently stopped school in order to dedicate his time to his "ecommerce". The other one, is in the same situation as me, he doesn't study, reads books about mindset, entrepreneurship etc. and watches videos about "inspiring" videos. None of us have actually earned some money. About a week ago, I told my friend, the last one I have mentioned, to take action and start creating his Ecommerce site. He had to go through some kind of "mindset crisis" if I might say, he just started meditating and listening to Hans Zimmer's music to motivate himself for about 20 min. I stopped him, and he was still uncapable to do something. And I guess it's my case too, since I went through four 14 day Shopify trials, and still didn't finish my shop. I blamed school for this, like a coward.

I try to do some freelance work on Fiverr and Upwork, but no success. No customers. I feel trapped.

You might see that I am at least seeing what's wrong with me, but I still don't 100% believe what I have said. I don t know how to explain it.

finish school... work on your projects and gain experience... ONE YEAR... and you will be free to do whatever you want and you will have one year of experience and some money under your belt.

you arent some kind of genius or so.. sure there are people who dont finish school and are successful... but thats a tiny tiny minority.

and stop consuming "entrepreneurship" books and inspiring videos... focus on 1 or 2 projects and learn. read unscripted and MFL...

If I were you, I would focus on freelancing. You will start earning money immediately when you get customers. I would say selling physical products is almost impossible if you have no money and no previous experience because when people first start selling physical products, they usually always fund the business with their day job or other businesses. It can often take a significant time to become profitable. Of course you can eventually move to selling physical products when you get some other income coming in. Don't fall for dropshipping, it might be tempting in your position but it rarely ever works.

I have personally never done freelancing but I'm sure there are many great threads about it on this forum and people willing to help.

Well I am more focusing on dropshipping. I feel like freelancing in my field is so hard. I am translating stuff from English to French. I am tempted to learn a new skill to "freelance" with it. I have seen that many people here make bank with website development.

Have you done a job interview in another language speaking in Caveman Grammar?

Estonian Job Interviewer:
"So, Mr. Aurelius, what skills and experience do you think you can bring to us at Green Metrochemists, Tallin's Number One grease island sewer de-cloggers, with the world's best young industrial chemists?"

Homeless Genius:
"Me like new green shovel this company. Me job yes. Bomb grease in sewer! Big! Work fast!

Estonian Job Interviewer:
"Aha. I see. Fine. We'll provide disposable Hazmat suits and gloves. You'll have to pay for your own mask, filters and steel-toed boots, taken from your paycheck. And also vaccines. Will that work out for you?"

Homeless Genius:
"But me not build company spiderweb now? All will like! Four years me code soft cheese!"

Estonian Job Interviewer:
"There's the Hazmat supply closet. There's the exit."

You gave me a good laugh there. I am not going to Estonia for a job, but just to work as a freelance or to work on my Ecom. We chose Estonia for its economic development, not for the beauty of it. If the beauty was the case, we would stay in France.

Hey Aurelius

Thanks for replying. I didn't think you would.

There's so much "Entrepreneurship Porn" out there. People don't realize in their greedy desires to become gurus and influencers that they may be playing with someone's life.

Stop consuming all these videos and "inspirational" stuff. There's a saying in our tradition "Take advice only from those who ask nothing of you and are themselves following what they preach".

And then there's so much laziness out there. People just want to quit whatever they are in because they fancy something shinier. If you are practical, by all means, quit. But don't lie to yourself that the main reason you want to quit isn't laziness. You can do both school and a side hustle. You can even do three, school, side hustle and a part time job. The two qualities most important to learn at a young age are 1> Patience and 2> Hard work. If you have these two, you will succeed at pretty much anything. I wish you luck.

The French educational system is rigid, backwards, and uninspired at many schools.
I understand you're bored crazy but have a good mind.
But you can defeat the problem of miserable college courses. I'll tell you how. (I work as an expert on positive mental states.:fistbump:)
Pleasure at work and school only happens when the skill level and the demands of the task are in perfect balance.
What this means:
If classes are too easy and you're a smart guy, you'll be bored.
If classes are too difficult because you hack off and don't do the homework or maybe missed breakfast or did not sleep much all week, you'll be bored.
Now if you want to be a doctor or scientist, you need to develop a survival plan for all those loserly brain-cell-killing, bad college courses.
INCREASE YOUR SKILL LEVEL TO STOP BEING BORED:
Do the work, care for your body... that's just the beginning. Do deeper academic work, join a STEM group, take a job in a hospital to get motivated, networked, and energized. Be humble, that's a learning aid.
INCREASE THE DEMANDS OF THE TASK TO STOP BEING BORED:
Raise your standards of performance to exceed that of the teacher and class average. Finding similar students really helps. Start doing research on the science literature and start outlining the problems you see, and honor your questions. Write some reviews of books or research for 3-4 professional journals after one year. This will all launch you to the stars when you go to medical school. Feed that brain.

Here's the deal. Unless you have a plan, you're just going to focus on whatever is put right in front of you. Entrepreneurial videos. Job listings. Books on meditation. Without a sense of what you want and how to get there and what your standards are, you might just roll along for years completely detached from the pleasure of your true self.
Gary Vee does not tell people like you how to get through a bad course curriculum which might be your only route to becoming a doctor. So you need to become deaf to the gurus who don't like science and medicine and only want to think about business. You can do both.
If others survived that deadly, profiling educational system, so can you, and better than that, you'll take control of the experience. Right now. Today if you like.
The world needs more Romanian doctors. The world need more Romanian everything.
The practical problem now is getting the mindset to make the most of your courses. There must be other solutions at your school. Maybe you'll be eligible for accererated learning and cool summer internships. which will feel much, much better on the poor, crazily bored brain.

Welp, didn’t expect this thread to move in such a direction!

There is litterature, economics and science. I have chosen science based on what my mother wanted me to become, a medical doctor.
There’s other stuff you can do with a science background, like engineering or even statistics (quite important for business!)

I started in high school in the science stream, and took Physics, Chemistry and the whole bunch- but now I study Finance and Business Analytics in university.

You may be surprised to discover how much math and the scientific method is built into business, especially for risk management.

Also, if you were to do a paper or project that touches on the physical aspect of products, a science background definitely can give you a better picture of the context.

So in general, don’t just study science stuff ‘just to become a doctor’.

Gary Vee does not tell people like you how to get through a bad course curriculum which might be your only route to becoming a doctor.
Welp, for a bad course, just load up on Indian YouTuber teachers (works splendidly for math) and Chegg.;)

But to give credit to Gary Vee, he never really went that way, so of course we won’t hear him advising that path he never took.

So you need to become deaf to the gurus who don't like science and medicine and only want to think about business.
This is a very clear gap in the guru marketplace for such a course or program.

Science and medicine forms a great deal of products we see every day , and I just wonder what folks will sell in their businesses, if you take both out of the picture. Marshmallows?

You have the same problem every immigrant child faces with their parents. Here's how it plays out.

Family moves to a new country. This is due to some type of misery in the parents home country. Most likely they're just poor.
The parents work hard in the new country. This gives them a stable income and a lifestyle that's ten times more comfortable than the one they grew up in their home country.
To them having a stable job and a income that allows them to feed, house and pamper their family is the greatest of blessings. Their dreams have come true. All that because they worked hard. It didn't matter what kind of work it was. They had no choice whatever payed the bills.
Now they want the same for you. They want you to be a step ahead of them. That means integrating into your new society. So they want you to be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. Something "respectable."

I say do whatever you want to do. Don't listen to your mom. If you don't enjoy becoming a doctor choose your own path. The people that live their best life are those that are outcome independent. Forcing yourself to become a doctor or whatever your mom wants you to become is been dependent on her.

Here's a clip from an Indian comedian making fun of the parents that force their children to become something they do not want.
