Hello Fastlane-Members,
I want to sell premium dog treats made from grass-fed beef liver. My product is 100% beef liver without additives and is designed for dog owners, who value the health of their dog companions. First I will offer them in person, in dog-owner facebook groups in my country (germany). I do not know how to price them though. This is the info I have:
Production:
13€/kg Grass-fed Beef Liver cost
about 3€/kg energy cost for the dehydration process (electricity is so expensive in germany, about 0,30€/kWh)
This results in 400g of dried liver treats for production cost of about 16€.
For what price would you offer your product? I was thinking of 4 szenarios:
1. Offer it for a high price as a Premium product: 50€ for 400g
2. Offer it for a more affordable price and try to get production cost lower with increasing orders: 30€ for 400g
3. Make a compromise between both: 40-45€ for 400g
4. Start low with 30€ while I offer them in person and go up to 50€ when I have established a brand with labels etc.
I would love to hear your take on this.
