Hey guys, I just moved to Tempe Arizona. I moved 12 hours away from my home which was salt lake city, Utah. I moved here because I feel that there is more opportunity to meet people, as well as I just needed change in life. I've been here for about two weeks now and I've met hardly any new people. I've been trying all the apps like bumble, meetup, haven't had much luck. I was looking for networking events. There's not any around here. I had someone I'm equated with give me an address to an event tonight. When I showed up I quickly realized it was an MLM event. So I quickly got out of there. I'm just not entirely sure how to meet new people. Both professional relationships and personal relationships. What have you guys done in the past when you've moved to a new place, how did you meet new people?

Hello guys!
So I am soon to be launching my protein shake business. Its an E-Com brand with ready to go protein shakes, obviously all you need to do is order them. The problem is; Its a fierce field of competition. There's already a lot of companies that have ready-to-go protein shakes. I started this brand, because all those companies have boring packaging and boring flavors. I want to change that. But now that I'm getting closer to launch date I'm starting to have doubts. I know there is always room at the top. But do you guys think I should go all in with the protein shakes, or should I try to pivot to a different business model? I know its bad to doubt yourself. I've just put a lot of time and money into this, and it worries me that if I don't sell at least the first shipment, I'm going to be stuck with a bunch of protein shakes.

My family has all told me not to do this, and to go to college and take a safe career path. I feel it in my soul that, that path is not for me. I feel I'm destined for greatness, but its hard to stay confident when everyone around you is talking bad about your ideas. I've had previous success in E-Com but this is a much bigger project then before. I'm worried if I fail my family will say "I told you so" I'm scared I'm going to disappoint them.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hey guys, I really need some help. So I'm pretty skinny for my height and weight. I'm 6'3 I weight 143, and I'm 19. So its definitely not healthy. I have a super fast metabolism, but I'm trying to gain weight, but throughout the day I will be working on my business and doing other things and I just forget to eat. So I would like to know some ways you guys manage to maintain your weight while pursuing business. Below I have some pictures of how much I am consuming , and how many calories I am burning. As you can see, I am burning more calories then I am consuming. I still workout daily, as well as go on walks, but whatever reason I struggle to eat. I'm really trying to gain weight though. Its just insane, it feels no matter how much I eat. my body just burns more calories. By the way this is all tracked by my Samsung watch, and the Samsung health app.(yes I am one of the few people who prefer Samsung over apple) As you can see, I'm not even hitting my target calories. But I'm getting plenty of workout time in. For example: today I only consumed 1,671 calories when my target is 2,650 just to maintain my weight.

First thread, you're starting a protein shake business.
Second thread, you can't gain weight, yet you're asking for advice how.
Third thread, you can't meet people.

Something doesn't add up, and it's not your calorie deficit.

How about this for a wild idea:

Take some before pics.
Take your protein shake.
Take some after pics.
Go out and sell it to some stores/gyms whatever.

You'll sell product.
You'll gain weight.
And you'll meet people with a common interest.

Three birds one stone.

When I moved out of my parents place, and I was running my own business, I had no peers at school anymore. I had no coworkers. All I had were customers and low-wage employees. Not my ideal social circle.

Here's what I did.

Dating apps: I was in damn good shape and lived on a lake. So I threw parties and invited all the chicks I could. I'd have 15-30 girls at my house every friday in July. I only had a few dudes to invite so I let some of the girls bring friends if they wanted as long as they brought plenty of drinks. I ended up meeting a group of army rangers who were some pretty cool dudes and we would party each week alternating between my place and partying back on base at their place. I met more and more people and I would always have some cool friends to go do stuff with on most days of the week.

On the days leading up to the parties, I would invite chicks over to hangout that I had invited for the party later in the week. So that was my dating life.

Offer something of value along with being a cool dude. The whole plan falls apart if you're not interesting or attractive. You need to be a man that people want to be around, but not only that, then you have to put yourself out there. You don't have people around you by default since you're new in a city. You have to manufacture it yourself and get in front of people. The way I did it was lake house parties. You don't have to do anything similar but it makes it easy.

Then, make friends on this forum. These people are amazing and I've met some great friends on here. Hell, I traveled with @GravyBoat across India last year.

Finally, go out and DO STUFF. Get some hobbies. Go to a concert. Go to coffee shops. Go rock climbing. Do stuff you like to do and start introducing yourself. Have some energy and be interested in other people. Other people are usually just shy and need to be talked to first before opening up to someone. Be the guy who says hi first. Be the organizer. Be the guy with something going on. Be the introducer. Be the host. Be the guy who's always trying something new. Say yes to things more often.

That's how you'll meet lots of people. It may not always mean an increase in productivity for your business, but if you just need stuff to do and need a bit more social interaction in your life, it will definitely help a lot.

Start a charity, like providing food for puppies or clothes for homeless. Then invite volunteers to join you.
Many social media influencers might get out of their way just to be part of it, though not the most interesting demographic.

When you do go out. I would best the Fauci Method.

This is what you should do before going out.
  1. N95 mask
  2. Two Surgical masks
  3. Cotton mask
  4. Hazmat suit
  5. Stay 18 feet away
  6. Tub of hand sanitizer
Now you are definitely protected.

You should get plenty of friends dressed like that. God speed, sir!

I think in the last 10 years I have moved to 5 Citys and started over every single time. The only difference was that I did that for career and business purposes. I dont really want to hate on your decision, because you probably have some good reasoning why you have moved but cmon; leaving your town, because you cant meet people there is bullshit. Anyway, here are my 101 tips of socialising when moving to a new town.

1) A well socialised girl will take care of you. Hence before you even arrive you should have that bumble, Tinder or whatever be working for you. With Tinder location-pass you can prepare months in advance of your arrival. As has been said before; people wanna hang out with attractive people so the prerequisite is that you work on yourself.

2) Move into a house-share/hostel or community Airbnb. You will really get to know a few people once you arrive in town and these people give you opportunities to meet other new people. This is one of the most simplest tricks, because you technically can just move to a new place, if you dont like it. Honestly you shouldnt need that. Example: I lived in an airbnb with 3 long term residends and additional 3 short term rooms. I got to know the longterm residents really well and met at least 5 new people a week.Sure they are mostly travellers but you get a lot of social fulfilment out of it.

3) Do volunteering work. Its a double win; helping others is one of the most satisfying things one can do. People volunteering are generally open to new friendships as they often have social events together.

4) Sports; its a classic, it always works but takes time. You need to stay fit somehow too right? What do you like to do?

5) Work?

6) Startup events, pitch events etc. etc. whatever interest suits you.

Thank you, this helps a lot. I will definitely start doing some of those things, I already have quite a few hobbies. So I'm sure I can meat people in the same niche. So I can start growing my social circle.

You are actually right. Tempe is the city where ASU is, so there's a lot of liberal chicks and dudes, I would probably be a magnet with all that protection. The only thing to make things better would to be wearing a Biden2020 shirt over the hazmat suit. Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely going to do that.

The city I came from has a population of 10,000 people, the nearest big city is salt lake city, which is an hour away. and SLC is full of hippies lol. So I figured phoenix has a few more people than my city does. I definitely am going to do some charity work. I enjoy doing that kind of thing. I'm not a huge traditional sports fan, but I do a lot of outdoor sports like skiing(wont be doing much of that in phoenix) I do a lot of white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, running, and rock climbing. So I'm sure there's tons of people to meet in phoenix with those hobbies. I do need to look for startup events. I thought the one I was going to last night was one. But it was just an MLM circle jerk.

Here's a wild idea, which I will implement soon.

It depends on your budget though.

Get a designer to help you create a beautiful invitation. Similar to a wedding invitation.

Go to your neighborhood or a neighborhood of your choice (I will go to a fancier neighborhood because I want to create relationships with business owners), and put these invitations into their mailbox.

Say something in the order of "Hey, My name is X, I'm new in this area and would love to connect people. I feel many people are neighbors but hardly know each other. Let's change that. I would love to invite you and your significant other to a dinner at X restaurant. There will be 5 other people from your area, probably some from the same street. This will be at my cost. Text me at X to confirm if you're in".

Pay out of your pocket, create an amazing experience and facilitate connections between people. You will grow your network faster than you'd thought possible.

No doubt, one of the best ways to engage new people is through a shared love of religion or culture. Becoming active in a local church, synagogue or mosque will ensure that you engage with a community of like-minded people who will encourage you.

Shared sports is also one thing that helps build a network. Today I'm going to register for sailing lessons in my neighborhood, and before the pandemic, I had a group where we met twice a week to do Capoeira.

I can totally agree, that it's the simplest way. I would start from text and voice chats with a partner, and then - can offer to make a video call, before making a real date. When I've been in Europe, I've chosen this site ( here: httрs://www.russianbrides.com/hot-russian-brides/ ), with really nice, cute and hot girls there. It helped me a lot, to spend those days in Europe.
