What a gigantic waste of time to use as procrastination to avoid working on anything relevant. Does school have anything to do with your goals? No? Then don't go. It is opportunity cost keeping you from spending time on what you should be doing with your life. You already know it's pointless but you're going anyways? Don't.
"network and become a writer!"
"work at mcdonalds"
Jesus christ that is awful advice.
Go out and get your hands dirty and stack cash, grow a business if you see an opportunity to start one, or keep it simple and get started in real estate. Get some money, get an FHA loan, buy a 4-plex and live in one of the units, fix up the other units and rent them out, roll your equity into another property and be making bank in your 20's. You could never have to have a "job" again before you're 30. Do that or start a business.
