E-Commerce platform for website

Hi All,

I would like to know if anyone has an opinion regarding the type of payment options that should be available on a website. I am about to publish a website that makes a single product available for purchase from the site. I have set it up using only PayPal as the method of handling the transaction. Does anyone have any experiences using PayPal (good or bad) and are there better options out there?

Paypal is def the route to go here for single item.

1. People know Paypal and will feel comfortable sending money
2. People can pay using major credits through that Paypal checkout
3. Easy setup and no hassle

I have to agree with James F, PayPal is the way to go. PayPal gets a lot of grief and I certainly don't say they're perfect but when you deal with as many customers as they do you aren't going to make everyone happy. PayPal is easy to use and start taking payments quickly not to mention trusted.

As an alternative checkout Google Checkout

Yep Paypal & possibly Google checkout.
With only one product, there's definitely no sense in getting a traditional merchant account
