Just out of curiosity. If the main way you generate revenue and conduct your business is through a website and you created that website on wordpress, squarespace, etc. and did not program and code the website from scratch, doesn't that violate the commandment of control?

I don't think so.

I don't know Squarespace, but wordpress can't turn off your website with a click. It's just a medium.

If there is a problem with the platform (Shopify turn down your website, Wordpress has a problem of security) you can create another ecom and point your domain to it.

Technically yes, but it should only be a factor if what you're doing is illegal or unscrupulous or outside of those firm's terms of service.

In other words, if what you're doing is within the realm of normal legal commerce, or a lessor of a standard, say ethics (you're not hosting a porn or gambling site) it should never be an issue.

In summary...

The Commandment of Control is about recognizing major risk factors to your operation. If what you are selling, in itself, is a major risk factor, then everything is a Control violation, including the FBI knocking on your door.

I see. Thank you for clarifying!

Yes, because the variable and causal dynamic falls outside of your awareness and understanding it prohibits you from predictive and manipulative intelligence.

Well if your website starts getting traction and you start to feel like you don't have the control just remove wordpress and hire a team to build you a website from scratch and keep the same domain.
Does it work like that? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Wordpress doesn't control your website. Your host does. And there are thousands of web hosts out there. So even if you lose your host for some unknown reason, you can get another one rather quickly and easily.

Where you need to worry about Control is where there is a monopoly, say Amazon, YouTube or the App Store. If you're booted off those platforms, you're pretty much out of luck unless you've built a brand and customers will go another route to reach you.
