Hi all,
I have a good problem which I am hoping others can help me find a solution. I appreciate some might view this as not being a ‘real’ business as such, yet with the goal of adding a revenue stream I think we can agree that it is a step in the right direction.
I have two facebook pages, one with 20k likes and the other with 80k likes. The pages have been inactive for eight years. Every like is genuine, and none are bought. A while ago it dawned on me that I can use these two pages and change them into a business. This means I have access to 100,000 people that I can provide value in a product or service to. That is a great thing to have. My problem is I do not know what business niche to focus them on.
Truth be told, I have been a bit paralysed because I did not want to choose the wrong niche. With these genuine likes, I am worried that if I choose the wrong niche they will all run away and a good opportunity is lost. I have access to tens of thousands of people, I think my worry is understandable. I know that is the wrong attitude, I am over it now, I know failure is expected and I am going to move forward using them, but I know I need some guidance.
The niches I am looking at are (in no particular order):
Dogs – Yes, dogs. Dogs are amazing, and people love them. They are incredibly popular, especially on social media. There is already a massive fan base for them. People like and share images and videos. They can brighten up peoples days I can share funny stories, too, on a website. I have been lead to believe that dogs are great for affiliate marketing. Drop shipping is an option too.
Self-help and motivation – This is a topic where you either love it or hate it. It is a great passion of mine to help inspire people to work hard, cut all the excuses and be the best they can. I think once a person stops joking that they hate inspirational stuff they can realise that it provides great value to themselves in helping them achieve. We are all fighting our own battles in life and having some motivation or inspiration in front of you is a great thing. I think this is something we on this forum can all relate to. I’ve even felt like undertaking a large project in writing a case study book on successful people.
Soccer/football betting – I love soccer (I am from the UK). It is a distraction, true, but I think I have a healthy relationship with the sport where it does not dictate my life. Anyway, there is good money to be made in this. I have a friend who runs three websites which he markets through twitter. He does affiliate marketing for sports betting companies. So far he is making around $9,000 a month from this. I figure that I love the sport, I talk about it a lot, why not make money from it?
Conclusions:
I have my two pages, so there is nothing saying I cannot do two things. I think it makes sense to start with the 20k page so I can gain experience before using the 80k page. Does anyone have any experience with this? What do you guys and gals think about the niches?
I am going to go ahead and use them for something. I just need some guidance. Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated!
