Common excuse used for just about everything, but usually only a fallacy for not getting creative.
Here's a quick story of how I made $200 this morning (in about an hour) and got prime seats to a pro football game playing this weekend.. with no money and FOR FREE.
I contacted a ticket broker that was selling his bundle of tickets at a discount (10%). He had 10 pairs at $200 each face value, at a 10% discount. (So $200 below face). But he was ONLY interested in selling them all as a bundle.
Found 3 groups of people looking for multiple pairs of listings (craiglist is free, and a nice tool haha). They paid slightly over face value for consecutive seats in the same row. (Two of the groups were looking for an odd number of consecutive seats, which is hard to find... luckily I had 20 freaking consecutive seats LOL)
That left me with 1 pair of tickets, worth just under $200 (Direct center of the field, premium seating, and only a few rows up from the home team 'bench') and $200 in my pocket. I never handled the cash directly, simply connected buyer to seller.
Will be treating my mom to a day of sports and fun, everything will be free. One day I'll retire her with a house and money in the bank, but for now this is a decent start! hahaha
