Hey guys, I am finally taking the time to type this out. I recently introduced myself here: https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/introductions-networking/28633-thank-you.html

A day after my introduction post I found an idea for a product which has to deal with a certain aspect of a side business my wife has been doing. She explained to me the issue she was having and immediately I thought of a simple solution. As usual, I did my research and found there are other people out there as well who are having this problem with no company or product specifically marketed to solve it. There are alternative products they use meant for other purposes. When going to some of the big online stores, physical stores, and stores specifically in this hobby/business - I found not even those other products existed anywhere in the stores. In order to get, what I like to consider my "competition" products, you would have to go to Wal-Mart, etc. in a totally different section of the store.

The day after I went out and got some products together to make a couple prototypes. I have made prototypes numerous times now and even used them on one of my wife's customers. Without even knowing she came back telling us how well those little "things" (as she called them) worked.

I will be honest and say I have been dragging my feet about calling a local patent attorney and I am not sure why? I have done my own research on the USPTO site and Google Patent Search and can't find anything similar, but I am new and am sure there are many other keywords to search for. I have made up my mind to give him a call on Monday and do something else I have been holding off on for a while for whatever reason:

There is a local entrepreneur in my city who is very successful and who I have looked up to for a long time. His son and I went to high school together and were always good friends. He started a chain of ice cream shops back in the 80's and opened a very successful restaurant. Both sold. His latest venture was taking an apparel and accessories business, building it up and recently selling the majority of it for 305 million. I am planning on reaching out to him and offering to work for free in the hopes that I could learn from his extensive knowledge. I am not getting my hopes up, but it's worth a shot.

Lastly, I am taking on the $200 to $2000 challenge and heading out this weekend with the wife to pick up some furniture at garage sales. We are going to paint them, fix them up a bit and get them online.

That seems to be it for now. I am sorry this was such a long winded post and probably filled with a lot of rambling. I do appreciate the time you took to read this. Look for more updates soon.
