Hello, I'm new to the Fastlane Forum, I finished the book and enjoyed it as definitely one of the most clear cut books on the logic behind business scale and impact.
I've been a manager of a digital media business that grew from a few thousands in revenue to ultimately multimillions in revenue. That said, I've moved on to other work, and much of what was done in that business was not replicable to today's world since the media industry has changed at a rapid clip.
I'm working on a smaller digital media site in a new niche as a side hustle, however I haven't found a strong way to monetize it. At this point it's serving more as a news aggregator although we have a few contributors who produce original content.
Ideally I'm looking for a way to monetize and scale with: 1) minimal human resource systems 2) maximum time leverage since I can only put in 1-2 hours per day or so currently.
I've tried things like Google ads (pays very little), advertising sales (low demand), affiliate links (payout is really low despite generating decent income for Amazon), however these have not produced much fruit despite quite a bit of effort. I also have some experience with Facebook and email marketing, though I haven't been able to turn those into an ROI.
I've briefly experimented with a membership program too. Any idea what's the best way to drive value and find/meet demand using digital media? I'm all ears
(PS: I tinkered around on the forum but didn't find a strong thread about digital media, although there were a few posts about generating income blogging which is semi-comparable. Please feel free to point me to any other threads out there if I missed them)
