For those folks who are flying in, I have contacted a friend who runs a car service. Those of you needing transportation to and from the hotel and airport can get a discount. It's cheaper and much nicer than a cab or a van service (its a mercedes). Those of you interested can PM me and I will set up your info with him.

I would like to take a moment and introduce myself for everyone as well Bildgefisher, I'm Larry Goolsby and will be accompanied be my wife and business partner Jessica. Like Iownie said, I've been lurking here for a while now and though I haven't contributed much, feel like I should know many of you from your stories and posts.
I told myself that I've been to busy out working to be here more, but the truth is I'm here in search of the ideas that lit my fire to begin with. I joined the forum because you all were the nuts and bolts or where the rubber hit the road from the Rich Dad forum. People can talk context all day, or they can see what you all have done and know that many of you both talk and walk what you speak.
Just over a month after joining, inspired by the forum, I created our business plan, formed our LLC and set up shop. Three months later, we bought our first rental SFH. Life got busy in a hurry...but I've since diescovered that I/We need coaching, or at least a swift kick in the a$$ to keep things going. I've found a mentor and when I got back here and saw the numbers available for the B&P, I knew it was where we needed to be.
We are looking forward to meeting you all and getting to hear freash new ideas or have others hear ours.
We've booked into the Millennium Resort McCormick Ranch through priceline and see that it's a couple of miles away. It's our first time in Scottsdale, so any advice on travel or the hotel there would be appreciated.
Thanks, LarryG

Hello, I signed up the the 2010 B&P get together already, can't wait to see everyone again. Lots of work on researching Fair Trade stuff and getting education are in progress 2009, I am working on my Green Designation (Real Estate) and Certified International Property Specialist Designation. In the mean time, I am also taking intensive yoga class, I am thinking about to get my yoga teacher cerfitification later the year or early 2010. I also started the Thirty Day Challenge too. Thanks to Kenric, he is helping me on RoZCoo dropshipping business. My 24 hour a day does not have enough time to do everything, but everything I am doing now, I love it and enjoy it. Remember this, "Starting a day by taking good care of yourself!". Every day I start with 15 minutes meditation, then 15 minutes light yoga, then eat ORGANIC breakfast, then just BE HAPPY starting my every day journey with VISION. We all share the AIR on earth, so we can all share the WEALTH on earth together too. :smx19:

I recall two years ago these youngsters were worried about presenting cause they know nothing, and then blew everybody's minds with their stuff...

I was just telling that story to my local CASHFLOW Club over the weekend. They were AMAZING!!!

My take on this is...time permitting...everyone has something to share. Even if it how you go about hunting for a spouse (I usually put on chocolate and give her a 5-minute head start -- night vision goggles really help in sighting in your target). Take the time to share what you know.

The thing I've always found amazing is that MJ -- probably the most successful guy in our group -- sits there and takes notes on what everyone speaks on. You aren't speaking in public -- you are talking to your friends.

^^^^ seriously! Geesh, you must still be makin more money than me... when am I ever gonna catch up! lol

So Jon's down to hang from the 12th to 19th....

Ya know it's funny that. It really is like he says in the Four Hour Work Week. It costs much less than you think to live your dreams.

I always told myself that when I get rich I'll spent my winters golfing in Phoenix. Then I had a realization last year that went something like:

"if I wait until I FEEL like I am rich enough, it may never happen. I could have piles of money and never FEEL rich enough to live and have fun"

I know people like that.

So I decided to turn it around. Decided to make fun the goal and the priority. Last year I booked without knowing where the money was going to come from for the trip... and the money came.

This confirmed my theory that there needs to be a leap of faith and the putting off of dreams until a certain threshold of financial comfort is reached, is a good way to waste my life.

If I want to "BE" a guy who spends all day golfing, then what actions can I take TODAY to live that dream? I realized dreams only grow in the present tense.

Last year was 5 weeks, this year 3 months. If I had waited until I felt like I could afford it, I'd still be looking out at the snow, probably for years to come.

. . . we're opening TOMORROW!!! :D :D :D

-----we got it DONE!!! (well, almost)

Got a single sheet (called a "Goldenrod") with all the signatures on it:

-Water Dept
-Health Dept
-Building Dept (need to finish 3 things)
-Public Works Engineering
-Public Works Inspection
-Fire Dept (need to move 2 smoke detectors)

. . . you get the idea . . .

Essentially, we have a few minor things we're going to get done next Mon/Tue (finish handrails, etc). The unfinished stuff is on the 2nd and 3rd floors-- so everyone has consented to us opening the first floor (6 rooms) for tomorrow night.

So tomorrow-- if all goes well, we may have our FIRST GUESTS in this restored architectural gem from the 1870s/1880s!

And by next weekend, all 20!

Ok it is looking like the venue will be Fire Sky Resort (Scottsdale Arizona Resorts: FireSky Resort and Spa)

This is a nice upgrade from last year. In order to get the meeting room here we must have at least 5 people stay here for two nights. The room rate for our group has been discounted to $169/night. Please let me know if you would like to reserve a room because we need to guarantee 5.

There are many nice advantages to having the B&P here and staying here. Since it's a resort, we can all hang out at the patio and pool during the night. No need to go to the Phoenician. They have a complimentary shuttle that we can use to travel to restaurants or wherever else you may want to go within 3 miles. Everything will be within walking distance, there is no need to rent a car. A shuttle from the airport to the resort is $17.

Other amenities include:

  • Complimentary Wine Reception from 5-6pm in our Living room
  • Complimentary Coffee & Tea in our Living room from 6am-9am
  • Complimentary Wireless throughout the resorts common areas and in guestrooms with Kimpton InTouch Guest Loyalty program
  • Complimentary shuttle within 3 mile radius of the Resort
  • Complimentary Fitness Center
  • Complimentary Valet & self parking
  • Only twelve miles from Sky Harbor Intl Airport, $25 taxi, $17 for Super Shuttle
  • 18% discount on all spa appointments
The B&P will include:

Friday:breakfast (coffee, juice, cookies and pastries), lunch (Taggia Scottsdale) and dinner (RealOG's House BBQ)

Saturday:breakfast (coffee, juice, cookies and pastries), lunch (4th Floor Grill) and dinner (P.F. Chang's China Bistro)

And of course an awesome Fastlane T-shirt!

What we still need:
Projector - I think BFLBob brought one last year, can you bring it again?
Screen - Will probably rent one unless someone local has one.

Regarding the hotel room

So I have 4 for the Firesky which makes me feel comfortable enough to go ahead and reserve it. I know that I can get one more person to flip to Firesky!!! :)

I just want to put out there that the cost per night will be lower than $169 for people who stay there. I don't know how much lower, it won't be Days Inn pricing, but will be closer to $125-$130 mark. This is limited to the first 5 takers!! It really is limited to the first 5 but if there are more I'll see what we can work out. And a few of the lucky 5, will receive a free room upgrade!

I just thought of something.

Where the hell is the housewife? (aka feather dusting maid, aka Bilenda, aka snowbank, etc...)

Not to mention Miss Thrifty (I'll leave out the ****ar 'esqe jokes for fear of claw attack, twas a close call before!), Mr. RRhoid, sticker boy, Cabin Girl, Mr. Argumentative, Job Prowler, and so on?

I love you all and your names should be ON THIS LIST!! Prolly forgot some too!

Each year, I usually go thru the prior two year's "B&P Thread" to drop PM's or emails to everyone who "couldn't make it last year but will be there next time for sure!!!!!":blah2::blah2:

About half of them haven't posted in a year. Most of the rest "would love to, but just can't swing it, but will be there next year for sure (again)!!!!!":blah2::blah2::blah2:

Once in a while, someone will actually show up!

Sort of like the people who post the "I'll be a millionaire":blah2::blah2::blah2::blah2: threads, then drop off the face of the earth when they realize they actually have to do something in order for that to happen.

FIRESKY Reservation Procedures

NOTE: If you call right away and they can't find the Fastlane Event rates, it's probably because we just finalized the contract a few minutes ago. Please try again later if that's the case.

Telephone the resort directly to make their reservations, they should dial 480-945-7666 and ask for our reservation department. In order to receive the special group rates that have been made available for Fastlane, your guests will need to call prior to January 20, 2010 and identify they are here for the Fastlane Event and dates of the event.

Rates will not be changed at check-in for any guest that failed to identify their affiliation at the time of reservation. All rooms remaining in your block will be returned to general inventory for sale to other groups and/or individuals after January 20, 2010. Any reservation requests or changes after the cut-off date will be accepted on a space available basis at the current available rate. One night’s guestroom and tax will be billed to each guest who does not arrive or whose reservation is canceled less than three days (72 hours) prior to arrival. Individual attendees must be advised of the Resort’s cancellation policy, which is three days (72 hours) prior to arrival to avoid a charge.

For your attendee’s convenience, please communicate that our check-in time is after 3:00 p.m.; check-out time is 12:00 noon. Guests arriving prior to 3:00 p.m. will be able to store their luggage until rooms become available. Likewise, guests departing after 12:00 noon should arrange to store their luggage with the Resort bell staff.

All incidental charges must be paid by each group member prior to departure from the resort unless advance arrangements have been made for direct billing of these charges. All charges to be billed to the account will be presented for review and signature by an authorized person immediately following the event. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. A finance charge of one and one half percent per month is applied to the invoice beginning after thirty days.

Room Rates are $169.00/night as charged by the Firesky. This rate should be good for up to 3 days before and 3 days after the event.

All rates quoted are based upon the customer’s guestroom requirements as outlined in this Booking Agreement. Rates are based on double occupancy and there will be a charge of $15.00 per additional guest. The rates quoted are extended only for the dates stated in the booking agreement. For any dates requested outside of the specific group block, the guest will be quoted the best prevailing rate for individuals at the time. Rates do not include current city and state taxes totaling 11.92%. Tax rates are subject to change at any time based on government regulation.

Fastlane Room Rate Refund

They way we will help lower the costs for Fastlane attendees is that we will be giving back the first 8 attendees who stay at the Firesky, about $40 per night for 2 nights. This will be given to you at the end of the B&P. This is the amount that we saved for the room rental by contracting at least 5 rooms. In other words, we would have had to pay $500-$750 for the conference if we didn't get 5 rooms. So since we did get 5 rooms, we were able to save that money and distribute it evenly amongst the people staying at Firesky. The exact amount will be determined once everyone has booked their rooms. I'm sorry, but we can't extend this to more than 8 people and I'm sure you see why. Please let me know ASAP if you will be staying there to get on the list.

I will call them tomorrow and find out about the rooms. Seems odd that they don't have rooms available for Wed or Thursday. I'm betting they don't have them available at our special rate.

The Days Inn is about a block from the Firesky. See the map below for locations of everything that weekend.

What a great time, I should have actually stayed at the hotel instead of commuting back-n-forth to my home.

Kudos and BIG THANKS to Kenric (biophase), Mike M (RealOG), RussH, ATW, BflBob and everyone else that had their hands in this. The meeting facility was awesome and the hotel service was very good.

Had a GREAT time! Thanks to all the locals for putting this together for us tourists. Fantastic presentations - I especially enjoyed MJ's videos.

Big thanks to Mike and Danielle for being awesome, awesome hosts! Sorry for getting you in hot water last night.

And a GIGANTIC thanks to Bill for the marketing idea!!! That idea is going to explode my business!

...On our ride back to the airport, Sparlin and I had an Ethiopian taxi driver, he mentioned that in his country they regard their friends as family. I know how he feels - being around you guys, I feel the same way.

You're good people. I appreciate all of you.

I'm sorry that I had to miss, the presentations this morning (SUN), but family is my very FIRST priority. With that being said, I can't thank you ALL enough for the great time I had the B&P. I learned so much to be able to narrow down some of my ideas and run with them, also to run each idea though MJ's 5 commandments. I hope know one felt like I was there to only take and not share info. I tried to present something of substance during my presentation, that might help at least one person, since I have no current business, internet or RE knowledge to share with the group.
I greatly appreciate each and every presentation that was given. Also a BIG thanks to all those who prepared and organized the whole event, it was awesome. Looking forward to next year. I hope all of you out-of -towners made it home in one piece.
Thanks again for the great event !!!

Hey guys. I just wanted to say that I had a great time! It was just a well run event and the information was priceless. Everyone there was on the same wavelength and it's good to feel that power in person. It was great to meet everyone and share ideas. I was so excited that I hightailed it back to LA to put all of my new inspiration and ideas that I learned to work, so I can begin my merge into the Fastlane. Much thanks to everyone and thanks for allowing me into your ambitious circle.

Just got back to Colorado and snow. Another very successful year at B&P. I'm exhausted, so much information its hard to digest. I have a ton of ideas moving forward. Thanks to Mike and Danielle for hosting the bbq, still my favorite event at B&P.

Casey, I need to find out what that great marketing idea was.

Now is time to focus and get my plan into action. Thanks again all.

BTW we were at firesky from wed to mon. If you need any further info, please let me know.

Hey guys, I had a great time and enjoyed meeting you all. Thanks to all the coordinators and presenters for dedicating your time and resources for our benefit.

For those who didn't make it, make it a priority for next year. You'll find out that these are regular people that deal with life issues just like the rest of us. The key difference is their persistence on working through their goals, their willingness to learn from mistakes then correct them, and their optimism to try the improbable even though many of their friends and family may not fully understand or share their visions.

Thanks again to all who made it possible and know that your willingness to share your experiences has resulted in several inspired members. I think there will be some impressive success stories next year based on the confidence you helped to instill. Finally, thanks to MJ for starting this whole thing. See you guys next year!

I had a great time hanging out with you guys and learning this weekend! Thanks to the organizers and everyone who so generously shared their knowledge. Thanks to Steve and Lauren for the tour of the apartment complex.

MJ, let us know when your videos are available to view online, they were great! I found other videos online using the Hitler movie scene and there is even a 401k one, but yours is so much better. Thank you for the 5 fastlane commandments, I know that will be very useful to me in evaluating my business ideas.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Thanks for your friendship and support, it means a lot to me.
