Becoming a self taught copywriter

Hey guys ive been wanting to learn how to copywrite for a long time now, ive been doing some research on it and it got me really intrested on the whole copywriting idea! Im 18 and i have alot of free time, and im sick of wasting time not doing anything! I want to to head down the fastlane road now!!

I know absolutly nothing about copywriting, that's why im here, to get some advice on copywriting before i start learning it.

My questions

Is copywriting really something worth learning?
Should i spend my time learning any other skill besides copywriting?
Im 18 years old, im from brazil and i speak portugues and english fluently, am i qualified to be a copywritter?
What is the best way to learn copywriting for absolute beginners?
And how long does it normally take to become a decent copywritter?

You always have to SELL someone.

1) Your customer
2) Your investor
3) Your employee
4) Your regulators

Selling is everything.

Should i spend my time learning any other skill besides copywriting?

Depends on what you want to do.

What qualifies you is experience. Do. Do. Do.

Read a couple books. Read the link linked above.

And how long does it normally take to become a decent copywritter?

Depends on your persistence and discipline.

Check out The Boron Letters from Gary Halbert... I bought it yesterday on Ryan V's recco in the ZenD secret thread.. I read 85% of it last night, its that good!

Some other Fastlaners have said Cashvertising is kick a$$ also, haven't read it yet though...
