Are You Just Drifting Through Life? Time To Change!

I've been on The Fastlane Forum for some time already, coming back every few months and mostly consuming the great content. Just a few moments ago I made a decision to start giving back. In the posts to follow I will share knowledge and lessons learned that help me along the way to building a happier life. I hope that at least a few people will find them helpful as well.

Who am I? I own a small business, but I'm barely getting by. I left a well paying job two years ago to pursue my dream. I've spent last week thinking about my life and business, why is it so tough if I've got all that knowledge. In order to change the situation, I had to be honest with myself and admit the reasons:

• I have never before thought about my life's purpose and aligning my actions with it.
• I love learning for the sake of learning and getting an excuse - "I'm learning, so I'm not wasting my time". I need to balance learning with working and definitely work needs to come first.
• I have many different ideas and keep jumping between them. I don't want to miss out on an opportunity and as a result fail on the focus and execution part.
• I've been "me" focused. My ideas were about money and what I want, not about helping others. I've had moments when I've focused on others, but despite seeing good results and feeling better, I still went back to "I".
• I've not been determined enough in my actions.
  
• I've allowed even minor setbacks to bring me down and kick me off the track.

It is really hard for me to acknowledge these things, but it is a necessary first step to change. As mentioned in the beginning, I'll be sharing lessons learned and back them up with examples of their impact on my life.
