Hi I'm a professional software developer with 3 years of startup experience (fintech, cryptocurrency, DeFI) and 2+ years in network infrastructure/high scale systems (SWE at AWS)
I started my fastlane journey 11 years ago which helped propel me into the tech industry (went to school but self-taught lots of skills)
My expertise is in system infrastructure and architecture, but I've done plenty of interface development in the past (React and native Android) and can able to develop solutions for businesses end-to-end
I can also do some very useful things with data; I have a solid foundation data processing, data engineering, visualization, and machine learning model training
All of these skills make me a great and well-rounded developer, but I've been wanting to make the transition to fastlane business owner for as long as I can remember
I really struggle with coming up with and validating ideas, which I feel is a crucial skill
If I could just figure out how to become an idea machine and come up with software ideas that people would like to use I think I would be able to make some real progress on my fastlane journey
Here's an idea of mine that I'm willing to throw into the fire:
Weightlifting tracking app with AI personal assistant - The assistant has access to your lifting data and can recommend workout and nutrition programs based on your progress, if you skip days it may suggest a program with fewer days, or perhaps the workouts could change dynamically each week to accomadate injuries and plateaus (that are logged by the user)
I would try to target busy people 30-45 who find it difficult to stay on a consistent workout program but want to get in better shape
Would generate leads at my local gyms/fitness classes (with permission from the owners)
Perhaps I'll put this to the test, but my understanding of business development is that I need to be able to come up with an idea, test it, build something, get feedback, iterate, and repeat
How can I come up with more ideas that are actually valuable and might lead to a successful fastlane business?
