Affiliate Program Merchant question

Ok, So you've launched your business. You're up and running and you want to utilise Affiliate marketing to sell your product/service.

You want to get the word out to as many people as possible about your business. Can I be a merchant on 10 - 20+ affiliate programs at the same time?

Are there any rules in place to prevent you from using all of the affiliate programs at the same time?

I already understand that I need to allocate a lot of time to manage the accounts. And that affiliate programs themselves may frown upon this.

All I need to know is - can it be done?
