As the title suggests, this is an opportunity that landed on my desk and I decided to give it a second thought. It's a country club here in Boca offering an industry exclusive advertising spot. We're a full-service marketing consultancy and it seems like there is some alignment between the audience and our client persona.

Anybody have any experience with this?

Hi - generally, I find these types of things to be punts. Prospective clients just aren't in the headspace of business while they're writing their golf scores down. This is true for most industries but especially marketing consultation. Business owners aren't proactive about marketing.

As a golf course owner, we used to use this service. Free scorecards in exchange for the advertising on the cards. We dropped this service after one run. We wanted better designed scorecards that were not filled with clutter.

It could be a good service for some. It just wasn't for me.

You could even expand from card to course signage. Make nice looking signs with a sponsor name on it and provide them free of charge.
