Hi all,
first of all, after all these years i still enjoy keep coming bac, reading your stories, progress threads, roadblocks & the solutions you found. This is THE most supportive forum one can find.
What i want out of this thread:
Feedback from anyone who has ideas or feedback, what i could do with my mindset.
I have grown into an "owner" mindset, trigger some years ago was the book "extreme ownership" by Jocko WIllink.
This confirmed my thinking, my way of seeing the world.
Problem:
I have tried and failed my first self-employment, it seemed that i could not get any customers, i had professional marketing, website, still no success after 1,5years. So i stopped that and went back to my well payed employee-status.
I got this position because of my ownership mindset, i behave, think and act as if i would be the real owner of the company i am working for.
On a daily basis I see the other employees that come with their employee mindset, 9-5 & "thats not my responsibility". If I got a $ for every time i heard "well, thats not my responsibility", i would be on my own luxury island.
Its my greatest gift but also a huge drawback or how ever you would call it.
I also see in my large company, that due to the lame mindset of the managers, who also gave up and don't want to grow anymore, that their teams are mimicking their behaviour and run on 50% at best.
My skillset:
- 20y+ IT SAP Tech Expert
- climbed my way up from Expert Level to Management Consultant for SAP Outsourcing
- "Extreme Ownership" Mindset
- I don't accept a "no / not possible / this is not part of the contract / not my responsibility" as an answer.
- I find solutions that no one ever tried
- I am a great supporter but no "leader" - have no ambition to hold power
- I like ever changing environments, i am bored after 1-2years in the same position
- Optimizer: Without thinking, i constantly see what could be done easier, more efficient, more "logical"
- I believe that 90% of the rules are for idiots - rules hinder progress and fast movement - i like to work around rules, find direct solutions - hater of regulations
- crypto enthusiast since 2021, privacy advocate, Monero Fan
- I love to brainstorm any problem, situation, improvement ideas
My question to you:
If I want to start over as a freelancer or co-entrepreneur, where should i look for potential partners?
What are your first reactions to my rant?
Where would you see me professionally?
What questions do you have?
What could I do with my talents?
I am so stuck in my head that i can't see clearly anymore. So - looking for your feedback/questions.
EDIT:
AI was something i use every day and it keeps trying to point me in the old positions, nothing i can think of anymore.
Where i see myself in my future: Part of a group/network of people that help organisations or HNWI to overcome problems. Find solutions no-one thought about.
If i don't know the answer, i work it out, with my team, group of experts in brainstorming mode.
All in a non-office space but rather loose connection style. Can be a remotely connected group, distributed over the world. the more and diverse thinkers, the better.
Where could i start this, find such people who like to solve problems for money?
Yes i know "niche down". But actually i don't want that now, i would go there later, once i find my "sweet-spot".
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
C.
