I've seen numerous posts lately asking "should I quit _______?"

Nobody ever succeeded by quitting. If you're asking this question in a public forum, I'm willing to bet 99% of the time the answer is NO.

It reminds me of these relationship threads on Reddit. "My partner did X. I don't like it."

And the roaring response is YOU NEED TO DUMP THEM NOOOWWW!

Granted, the general maturity of Reddit is of a 3-year-old -- but the point stands... If you're asking if you should quit something on here, we know you're just having a bad day. Get some encouragement and then get your a$$ back in the game. Don't give up because of a minor setback. Massive action is the cure-all.

Let's go.

More specifically, what are the reasons why YOU want to quit?

Because of legitimate data? Or emotional hardships? Motivation issues?

Because quitting sometimes is the right decision pending data, but most of the time (like you say) is because someone doesn't want to work through the grind, or the desert of desertion.

The "exception that proves the rule" -- sometimes there are people who have just been barking up the wrong tree.

How'd you put it? Putting the ladder against the wrong building?

But I hear every day now "I've tried EVERYTHING" -- really? Name them. "Well I can't name them but it was a lot." Okay, name two or three. "Well, I'm not sure. But I just can't keep doing this." Doing what!?

"Well I tried cold-calling and emails." Great. How many did you send and what was your offer?

"A LOT!" -- no how many?

"I'm not sure but I was at my desk ALL day."

Okay. Let's look at your phone log and email outbox.

Oh. 6 emails and 3 phone calls.

8-10 hours at your desk and you've sent 6 emails... and 3 calls... No you shouldn't quit. You should get to work

(I've got this challenge with my team right now so maybe this is just me venting  )

Yeah 9/10 of people just haven't tried hard enough before quitting. But it can also be just as hard to know if you are wasting your time or if you just need to dig your heels in further.

It strongly depends whether you should quit or not.

In July 2021 I was thinking of a trading strategy where I was holding different crypto coins on Binance with an initial value of 2000€ in Ethereum and 10 other cryptos for 50€ each. I decided to flip as soon as the coin reached 20% in gains. But the only crypto that managed to do so was XRP. Cardano was close but did not manage to do so. So at some point I quit that strategy and just converted every of those coins except for ETH into 30 million Shiba Inus. I tried to transfer those coins from Binance to crypto.com but used the wrong network so I lost my fundings. I tried to retrieve them. My ETH transfer was retrieved but I had to pay 10% but my SHIBs were not retrieved.

Then SHIB went up a lot. This week I decided to ask again to retrieve the lost funds. And it turned out that suddenly crypto.com upgraded its app and now it is possible to transfer SHIB using the BSC network. After one day my funds were retrieved so instead of those 500€ I now managed to get 2700€ minus a 100 dollar fee.

The moral of the story:
- Quit on doing bad things like my strategy with lots of coins.
- Don't quit on doing good things like asking whether the funds can be retrieved.
- Always think big since you can get 1500% gains and more instead of just 20% gains.

Okay, yeah, you're right. You should quit.

Just joking.
