Hi to all, here Christian 28 from Italy.

First post, after reading both TMF and Unscripted .

Brief introduction of mine:

1. Back in February i worked like a PT in a commercial gym: Good salary, my passion and not so much work (from 5 to 7 hours/day).

Every day in the free time studied everything, from fitness to marketing, digital and social media, copy, etc...

So everything i need for my work/passion and for increase my knowledge.

2. March here in Italy big pandemic, close EVERYTHING, every gym, restaurants, all people really close at home all day and moreover i broke a finger
while working out at home, first day of lockdown.

So passed from every day in the gym work and training to sitting at home without training and with a broke finger.

In this period i read both books, and started to "see" the world in a different way ( MJ mentioned a lot personal trainers in the books:rofl:).

3. Back to work normally from June to October, and NOW another lockdown here in Italy and gyms close from 2 months, so again no work......

I don't want to work like PT for many years again, but i hope to launch something in this field (i have more almost 10 years experience and know very well the customers need).

If i find something good, i can find and start something in whatever field.

My struggle now is:

I'm not working, so no salary, not so much saving (minimum for live for others 6-7 months without any work).

I am trying to find clients from online coaching, for collect something, but isn't so immediate to create a personal brand a find clients online (it's a very full field, also in Italy).

I am also increasing and study more skills like copywriting....

What can i do?

1)Increase my skills, back to work(maybe just online), and continue to collect money for launch something (when?!...hope very soon)

Or

2)Start and find something now that don't need a big initial investment?

Hope to find values and "right" choice from your answer.

p.s. sorry for my bad english

Thank in advance to you all guys

Christian

As a PT and similar fields, a lot depends on how much you're willing to put out there. For example putting on social distanced exercise groups for for free, starting a you-tube channel for fitness related to COVID and privately coaching people through your network are all ways to build a brand quicker.

As you say though, personal branding takes time and in that time you need money.

My plan would be to leverage your current experience, dominate your area (geographically) and then branch into your next move once you've got some money behind you. In that time you'll also be able to start building a network that you can transfer over to customers once you launch your idea.

Starting something without money is really tough because if you want something lets say app related - you will be in a situation in which you'd need to commit to learning everything you need to build an app without any capital to outsource this work which is incredibly tough, especially if you have a main source of income demanding your time.

And if someone else fronts the money which you'd eventually need - you will be in some way in debt to them which doesn't sound like something you want.

Thanks for the reply.

Sure, everything takes time. I don't have hurry.

But i would like to start with the right "choice" and don't just follow my passion, because is my passion.

I can start everything in every field, however now i have very solid skills just in this.

Rightly you say is needed a minimum budget for launch any idea.....
