Hello family! This summer I just turned 18. Coincidentally, I also read TMF and am reading UNSCRIPTED . Since I was 12, I saw Kickstarter and indiegogo campaigns, which showed me an early introduction to the fact that the Slowlane isn't necessary. Since then, I've been slowly learning and studying business and entrepreneurship until my passion to be free for my future family and free from the Slowlane made me decide that I refuse to stay on the route which will leave me in a middle-class home with piles of debt. This post is my first step towards a life where I can be there for my family, and have the time to love them too.

So... I guess all that was just to say hello! And I hope you've had a good day. I think @MJ DeMarco may have literally and figuratively saved my life.

Another thing I'd like to say, is just how weird it was when I was with my friend last weekend, and he said he wanted to "Get a good Job..." I thought that MJ was just making fun of stereotypes, but sadly they're real.

Ahh.. to be young again!

You'll need money to fund your ideas so focus on living beneath your wealth and develop value-add skills that will allow you to be more productive.

You're the product of your own routines.

dam I feel old, 28............

You can be a total loser and fail, bankrupt yourself for several years, and still be better off than most people in the world, like Mark Cuban said.........

34289

Some people might disagree with me, but I'll disagree with them disagreeing with me, get a job (any job) actually make it a crappy job, like scrubbing floors or something stupid. Make yourself just dread the idea of going to work (but force yourself to go) and embrace how miserable your life is during the time of being clocked in during shifts.

Then ''invest'' your money into starting a business from those paychecks, make sure you keep tons of cash saved up incase you want to spend on ads or inventory, whatever the case is, torture yourself with the crappy job and just make the business work, make more money than the horrible job and quit (hopefully in an epic way)

You have to feel what the script is like, and embrace misery to enjoy the rainbow. Call it crazy, but you need to feel the burn, not just read about it in a book from Unscripted .

Being 18 I'd guess you have barely any life experience, trust me when you know what it's like to be yelled at by people from 3rd world countries in a position of power over you for minimum wage whilst being degraded (I've been told to unclog shitstained toilets and clean them) All while worrying if you even have a job next week is something EVERYONE should experience in life, that is what MJ calls a FTE.............

Or just get a job at hollister and mack on some ladies, not a bad idea either. Oh, and maybe start a business on the side

You don't need to see what the future holds,

Envision what you *want* your future to hold, and just do it. It's as easy as that, unfortunately it takes to much dam work but needs to be done. You can fail for the next 3 years and still not even be considered an adult legally ?21 drinking age in US?

Just dont make the mistake of chasing money

There’s not a feeling that I enjoy more than when someone enjoys something I provide to them. (ie cooking. I love the smile that they have when they truly enjoy my food) I just need to find something that provides a better scale-able value than crème brûlée. I haven’t quite felt a real example of someone enjoying a product that I made myself though. (I really only use recipes). I really do want to wake up and see that I have helped people’s lives. I love providing value.

I’ve just gotta get the life experience. Like you said. Is doordash a rough enough job? Haha! So far the only problems I’ve run into, are the unreliable and inconsistent hours along with an app that occasionally freezes.
I know there’ll be an FTE sometime though. Wish there was a better way to kick it into action.

A simple way to look into product problems is to go on Amazon and look at low star reviews, look into complaints, people love to complain and will rant about it online.

Similar for service business, you can look at google reviews etc.

I agree with you 100%. Getting a shitty job that sucks up your energy and makes you depressed. While you look at others working the same stuff for over 30 years will make you hate script.
That was my experience when I started working in a factory. I worked behind a conveyor.
How would you feel after 8 hours of putting bottles on a belt just to wake up the next day and do the same shit all over again.
I worked there when I was 15 for summer break.
Never again!
