As I go through many of these posts, I see references to great speakers and seminars.

I think kimberland is heading to one soon.

I listen to a lot of tapes/CD's, but have never spent the bucks to see Tony Robbins or someone like him.

The closest I've come is Les Gee, who I'd recommend to anyone.

Can any of you share your experiences with great public speakers or seminars?

(Russ...I know where you're going to want to go with this, but I was at that one!)

All the time.
Though honestly I prefer less than 3 hours
'cause at that point, if the host is good, my brain is full.

One of my faves is Brian Tracy on selling
(I like his half day combos,
one half on selling,
the other on something like personal development)

Lately I've been taking them on the craft of writing.

Oh, but I usually don't pay for them.
Buddies know I like taking the seminars so they hook me up.

I've seen a number of speakers from memory Robert Kiyosaki, John Burely, Jay Abraham, Captain Coffee, Dolph Deruse, Zig Ziglar, Tom Hopkins, Brian Tracey and Tony Robbins I can honestly say hands down is the best. That's not saying the other speakers aren't great; Tony has a way with connecting with people greater than the others.

He goes through with dealing with people's real life physchological limiting beleifs and guides us a safe passage through them. A lot of the speakers I've seen talk a lot about the knowledge and how to do things, but Tony gets you involved and actively participating so you can get real results NOW and not later where it may loose it's impact or forgotten about.

For example, Tony holds a fire walking experience at the Unleash the Power within weekends. A lot of people have no reason to walk on fire and don't have the capability to walk across it unscathed, but Tony uses it as a metaphore to teach people that the human spirit is much more than we ever give credit for... Namely ours. Tony empowers us in such a way, that who ever didn't want to do it, is now able to do it, and before the end of the night, EVERYONE has done it. I know my friend who came along to the seminar was exactly in this boat. I was so proud of him when completed it (with 2 less feet j/ks :p). By demonstrating that we can do it, it not only breaks through limiting beleifs and allows us to empower ourselves with questions like "what else can we do that we thought we couldn't have?" or "what other limiting beleifs do we have that are holding us back from our potential?". The firewalk also serves as a powerful reference point in our lives, that when ever we come across something difficult, challenging or a hard time, we can refer back to it to draw upon it's power within us, and power on forward with ease. If you're lucky to have an experience as powerful as this to help you through, then you're very blessed. Sadly, most people don't (I know I didn't and I knew it), that's one of the reasons why his seminars are so powerful. There's no price you can give for a gift that powerful.

If anyone gets an opportunity to go see him, jump at the opportunity. Don't put it off, take action now and commit to stepping up into your future. I highly recommend it, do it now.

Yeah, I did :)

The funny thing was, my friend and I got split up during the firewalk. There was about 4000 of us and 22 lanes of coals for us. Each lane was about 9-12 feet long smoking red in the dark. My friend got to do it before me and I was left looking at the coals and thinking of ALL the wrong things when you're preparing yourself to walk across the coals lols. Moment of truth came, I dug up why I was there, got leverage to do it and went into peak state. Felt the warmth on my feet but that was about it. Was really suprised how quickly it went by.

The firewalk occured on the first night, and things just got better from there :) We had another 3 incredible days afterwards.

Highly recommend the event to anyone. If you want to see some pics that were taken over the weekend, check out http://www.myspace.com/aaronleung

I have a ton of Tony Robbins on CD. I listen to them ALL the time in the car. I prefer CDs as I can absorb and reabsorb the information on a daily basis. I'm sure he's awsome in person. ...I think he's so great that when I worked with juvenile delinquents we would all listen to him together and then I had the kids lead a discussion group. Interestingly enough, I got in trouble for doing this, as Tony's teachings are all about accountability and rehab is all about having a disease and being a victim. I wanted to challenge these ideas but the program didn't want to. Just an interesting observation on our metal health/ rehabilitation facilities.

I've heard Brian Tracy speak about motivation, in particular, his talk went along the line of follow your deam. Obviously, his speech was well worth it. Tracy's own life story is quite an amazing dream come true: high school drop out, world traveler, successfull a, b, ...z.

Hm, I've also attended a Seven Habits of Highly Effective People seminar. The seminar lasted four days and I learned SO much. In return, I received a wealth of knowledge and Stephen Covey's wisdom. Covey wasn't at the seminar, but his people did an outstanding job. (Isn't it a bit ironic for someone to have a seminar with their name all over it, but they're no where in sight? Anyways, my two cents.)

My learning experiences are not "speakers" per say - but gatherings.

One of my favorites is NCE (National Council of Exchangors).
We do 2 national conferences a year.

Exchangors are basically creative real estate brokers and agents and creative real estate investors. Many are older - have been at it for decades.

The spirit of the group is one of honesty, synergy, and helpfulness. It always one huge synergistic, mind-expanding, learn how to put together win-win deals, event.

The conferences are 2 days of classes and 3 days of "marketing" - which is a new real estate property available being presented every 4 minutes.... you see it all... SFR, NNN, Apmnt, Self-Storage, Businesses, Raw Land, Problem Properties....

Marketing is broken up with periods of brainstorming sessions, problem solving sessions, round tables in the morning, people seeking cash, people selling notes, people creating notes.

It is one big deal clearing house. But the best part is that *most* of the people there are people of integrity that come with a spirit of cooperation.

The creative real estate bag-o-tricks gets bigger every time I attend. Maybe I'll start a tread one of these days to share some of the tricks.

WARNING: The website does not reflect the group. It doesn't really give much info, actually.... ironic because the site is www.infoville.com

but, if you have any specific questions about the group - please ask. It is awesome.

Did I talk about the round table I attended in Vegas (January)
with Jimmy Wales (Founder Wikipedia),
Sean Parker (Napster/Facebook),
and Seth Godin (marketing guru, Purple Cow)?

Great, great stuff.
Let me search the forum.
If I haven't,
I'll dig up my notes.
