Hey Folks

I have been researching about Monthly Recurring Costs which is necessary to add in my budget.
I am thinking both aspect of short term & long term (As you can see in the spreadsheet in MM/YY)
I am not into fancy stuffs, Just interested in essentials/starter pack/jump start so that I don't get into in dumb mistakes

My Question is: How Can I be fairly certain about Monthly Recurring/Operating Costs so that I can start, run and sustain a online business ?

Please provide feedback from your experience. Or if there is any similar post like this, it would be nice if you link up.

Thank you guys! I appreciate you!

One thing I've learned is that software/app expenses are death by 1000 papercuts. You add one app/plugin here, get one marketing service there, before you know it you're running your books and notice you're dropping $400/mo on useless crap.

Its really hard to give you a definitive list of services you need and should pay for, because its really business specific. Some businesses need a landing page builder, others don't. Some pay for SMS marketing, some don't.

I would spend the first 6 months to a year focused on building what you need and testing things. Give each new service a couple of months to see if there's a return. After a year, plug everything into a spreadsheet and see what you can cut and what you need to keep.

I understand.
You are right - I gotta test in order to optimize
I think the correct way of saying MVL - Minimum Viable Launch - something like that
Thanks man. I appreciate you

I would suggest you break these down into monthly and one-time costs. For example, the website theme is a one-time purchase, but website hosting is monthly.

Thanks man for the reply.
I will keep it in my mind

This is what is defined as analysis paralysis.

Let's start a different way that makes sense.

What is your next goal aka what is the next big step you are going to accomplish? (not the whole vision, but what is your next goal, put an affiliate site up?)

How much money do you have currently or plan to have before your goal deadline?

then you can see how to accomplish your goal with the resources you have/will have. If you are short, that's where becoming resourceful comes into play.

Edit, I also just came across this on Social Media, here is a list of ongoing affiliate offers if you don't have any. No idea if these links themselves are affiliate links but it may give someone here a start....

Next Goal would be Create Content & Building Email List
That's what in my mind right now

I have little money & in order to make this work, I have to stay like broke with no weekend off by maintaining delayed gratification - something like that!

Thanks for the reply and link! I appreciate you!

So currently you just need a site with an optin box that you can capture emails, so under $30USD, maybe less??

You don't need all that extra shit or to plan out a year ahead. You need to be writing content, which you can do for free, and when you have enough to even start a site, you need a few dollars.

don't put the cart before the horse, save as much money and keep as much money in your pocket as long as possible. The idea of making things easier with expensive software is a luxury not a necessity at this point.

I don't want to be a dick, but you can do that for free. Make a facebook page and post your journey. You'll still generate the leads you're looking for for whatever you're cooking up down the road, and it won't cost anything monthly.

"My Question is: How Can I be fairly certain about Monthly Recurring/Operating Costs so that I can start, run and sustain a online business ? "

Um. You can be certain by just looking at the prices of what you want. Like others said, don't register anything for 10 years. Your whole question is actually just too analytical for no good reason.

Simplify this. Way too much overthinking going on. Here's what you do:
1. Look up the price of a domain and hosting. Pay for them.
2. Buy a theme
3. Build your website

If it fails, try something else. Repeat.

Once you get your bearings, and actually have something to sell, definitely start coraling prospects onto your own platform so you don't have to pay $.10/click just to reach people who already want to hear from you.

Ok, but what is your journey about? I guess I don't understand why you are spending all this money on a website to document a journey about spending money on a website? What exactly is your journey about, for example, what are your first 5 posts going to be about?

The Journey is about Affiliate Marketing
I am Documenting about Affiliate Marketing What I am learning and Implementing at the same time
The Journey is the R&D Stage without Result
So During the Journey Stage: I don't expect to make homerun like making money

I am not spending all money, that was legwork & research in the spreadsheet
I need to know the best possible estimation operating cost as in Cost Effective Way
I have a tendency to buy some things in bulk from Sams Club/Costco that's why long term is ok but depending on money & timeline MM/YY
Maintaining website, hosting = its too much for me because I gotta focus on content creation
I think I should a hire wordpress guy who can keep the website alive

Bro why don't you just go on Blogger and track your journey there? I sense that you're confused.

Just budget $100/mo for your website. Should be overkill. I spend $36/mo for shopify, domain name, and custom email address.

Then once you get going you'll see what it actually is and can adjust.
