Hey there. I'm aware of but relatively unfamiliar with the work and teachings of people like Grant Cardone, Alex Becker, and Gary Vaynerchuck. Was wondering if anybody here has ever purchased any of their products or services or attended any of their live events, and if so, what you thought of them. Thanks.

I've got some of Grant Cardone's materials:

The 10X Rule Book
Sell or Be Sold Book
Webinar Series
10X Conference - 2017

The books are great and I would recommend reading at least 10X Rule.

The webinar series has been decent for the most part, but one negative I do find is that there are large chunks of the webinars where he tries to upsell. It's all fine and dandy, but I came to learn not be sold for 10-15 minutes.

I haven't watched much of the 10X Conference to be honest and I am okay with that.

What are your thoughts? Any programs that look intriguing?

Grant Cardone is the GOAT!!!

All of his books are worth the time it takes to read them. Honorable mention to 10X and Sell or Be Sold.

I just purchased his webinar for "Secrets of the Wealthy" and I have tickets to his 3 day 10X Growth Con 3 Event. I'm very excited to go!!!

Gary does have/had other businesses so I think he's legit. Grant I don't know about. Alex I don't know about.

The best rule of thumb for not getting conned is:

Don't learn business from anyone whose primary income source always was, (and is) coaching.

Whatever you think of those guys - stuff like that is motivating :)

I love GC when I am burning out and I need to get coked up on business. I'll admit sometimes I get done watching a GC video and wonder what the hell I just spent 15 minutes on, but others are gold.

Veynerchuck? He's just a wine douche turned guru.

Why I love grant: Teaching people how to hustle and why it's important, the importance of selling, taking responsibility for a sale/life, diversifying income. Whatever he's doing must work because he sure as hell turned his net worth around fast.

That being said - he is quite rough around the edges and SOME of his advice can be questionable imo - IE: calling someone 50+ times if they aren't buying, going ALL IN on his advice, selling ANYTHING and EVERYTHING for income - some of this isn't super structured.

I would pair Grant's motivational/life advice with some more polished technical sales advice - like Jeb Blount, Fanatical Prospecting or Sales EQ (a much more polished approach to the actual sales model).

If you're a sales guy or real estate investor, Grant Cardone's stuff is for you.

If you're a web SaaS entrepreneur/online marketer, Alex Becker is great.

If you are a beginner and just want to figure your mindset out, go for Gary.
(My advice: dont waste your time, do something productive instead)

The problem is most people blame these guys for their lack of success. They spend all their time consuming their free content and don't do anything that gets them closer to their goals...

You could just pick what suits you best and invest in that person's course (if you really cant figure it out with the free stuff...) and just GO ACT!

Either way, you own you.
They can't help you more than that.

Maybe The Fastlane Millionaire sets the bar too high and people except that same level of experience with other books.

Most books are just about getting one or two key concepts. Nothing more.
So pick specific books that you need to reach that next step and study + take action.

If you are stuck with motivation Grant Cardone has some good books on that.
I find his sales material pretty general but its a good primer.

But overall a book is just a tool you use on a journey. So focus on having a clear direction first and then use books as one tool to get you moving faster / past roadblocks.

Bit of a rant but there has been a lot of "Is X book good" threads lately and that question should be more like "Is X book good for X problem" to get real feedback. What are you hoping to learn from these people?

Haven't had any exposure to Alex Becker but I really enjoy both Grant and Gary. The majority of their "coaching" is FREE to the public on YouTube, or via their podcasts on Spotify. I've paid zero money to Grant and Gary and have gotten hours and hours of excellent content. Why bother paying for one of their talks when you can literally watch it on YouTube for free?

Gary's delivery is obviously a bit different, he swears a lot (which I sort of like), and using terms like "grind" and "hustle" is almost becoming cliche in our wantrepreneur society, but he knows his audience. In the end, there's not much difference between Gary and MJ--they both started with nothing and created their route to the Fastlane. Gary did it by dominating in the wine industry, and MJ via limousines. They both recognized and capitalized on the fledgling internet while everyone else was sleeping.

Now they have many different interests but the advice I hear is much the same. "Get off your lazy a$$ and go do some work."
"There has never been a better or easier time to make money than today." "Don't F*ck with business cards until you get some SALES!" "Putting the title of CEO on your LinkedIn means jack shit" and on and on.

This. Thats why you dont even have to buy Grants Products in the first place. His Advice
is pretty generic: Set high goals, be obsessed etc. That Guy has BILLIONS of youtubevideos, where he tells you everything he knows,
I use that for priming and instilling a mindset. Thats all.

I'm fascinated by the huge difference in feelings that people have toward these people. I think these A-type personalities, unfortunately, evoke emotions in people, which more often than not leads to the people putting up a wall.

Not everything that Gary, Grant or Alex say will add value to your life, and hey, you might even dislike the person. But a wise, wealthy person I am close with told me that I can learn and get value from virtually any successful person; you just need to filter it.

Gary started off in the wine world, and he's far from a "wine snob". The details of his journey are far more interesting, and when people hear these details they think it's interesting but would never go through it themselves.
1. Living far below your means and saving the majority of the money you make for over 10 years
2. After saving all of that money, investing it into high-risk technology startups (instead of buying BMW and house to impress people that you don't honestly give a F*ck about)
3. Leaving the wine world where he was successful and comfortable, to start a marketing/advertising agency in the MIDDLE of a tech boom, where the road would have been much easier and possibly more rewarding in the short term. By the way, to highlight the scrappiness that so many entrepreneurs lose with success... they rented a conference room inside of another companies office to start this agency, even though they had money and could have afforded their own office.
4. Growing that agency to almost 1,000 employees in 9 years. The vision behind why he started the agency is brilliant, and a strategic long-term mindset that enables becoming a billionaire. That is: develop a well-oiled marketing/advertising machine, eventually buy out stale brands that are declining that were once giants, run them through this machine and explode growth, and either hold or sell those again.

Anyway, we could talk about these people for days and weeks. I think the main things I have learned from these 3 people are:
1) watch what they do, don't just listen to what they say. watch how Gary markets himself, watch how much he crams into one single day (probably more than most of us do in a week).
2) do you. you probably aren't on the same path as them (building an ad agency, or developing sales coaching, or building a massive real estate portfolio). take some lessons, and move on.
3) don't get sucked into the value content whirpool. listen in transitional moments (cooking, driving, working out, etc), and get to F*cking work.

I think they are so polarising because these A-Type Guys are also extremely outgoing and gregarious. That repels and overwhelms a lot of IntrovIerts. I know Entrepreneurs who are obsessive hard chargers as well, they are just not that loud. So we gotta make a distinction here. There are mannerisms and work ethic.

I appreciate this perspective because there is great information out there that can shave years off of a learning curve, as well as capital lost to pitfalls and mistakes. Each person is unique, as indicated in this thread. That's why I'm confident the question isn't who's the best, rather who's the best for me? That's a question each of us has to answer for ourselves. What's worked for my success is to choose one or two (Max) people and become obsessed with studying them. Your goal isn't to become them, rather to discover patterns to adopt their mindset and discover their actions and ways of thinking that are different than your own and if those actions and mindset are actually a roadblock to achieving your desires. My experience has been that Grant Cardone has been a great fit for my own success. Success is subjective. We each have our own definition. The common thread between each of us though, is that we want a great life filled with ambitions, accomplishments, love and goals to strive for. We want to live good and we want great things for those we care for. The mentor doesn't matter as much, if they're the person you personally trust to help you reach that.

I love GC. I highly recommend checking out his audio books rather than his physical books. He narrates his own audio so adds like 2x the info and is just so high energy it pumps me up every time.

As he states in his audio books, his publishers don't let him put some stuff into the books due to political correctness, he tosses that stuff into the audio versions.

If you don't know much about them, they all have free content on YouTube to get you acclimated. Don't try to prejudge them, instead watch with an open mind and see if what they're about resonates with you. You don't need to buy their products, and you can still learn a lot. I personally have bought products and didn't regret it.

I hate Gary V. I can't stand his videos. Just a hyper man who tells you to hustle and then tells you how hard he hustles. Seems to me that all he does is tweet people all day. Not much real substance in his videos. He just hypes people up with his energy and vague/big statements.

I like Becker. Some of his videos are very informative with a different perspective on things. He goes into more detail on certain things and gives his very wise outlook on topics. Only downside is he tries to sell you his software and sells it with a get rich quick strategy. Not that big of a deal though.

I don't know much about Grant.

Grant Cardone got me started in sales. He’s always good to get you fired up, but sometimes I have no idea what he’s talking about.

Any love for Andy Frisella?

IMO he blows the doors off of everyone else. And he’s the real deal. I believe his companies do $200M+ per year.

I think he’s on YouTube but I mostly listen to the MFCEO podcast. Good stuff.

For some reason I read Grant Cardone's 10X Your Life book a long time ago ... It was so dumb. Just a bunch of "rah-rah you need to be working hard all the time day, night, 24/7" bullshit.

Also Grant is a Scientologist so you can't really take a brainwashed schmuck seriously
