Last time I posted here I honestly felt defeated and thin-skinned. At the time I had unsuccessfully invested in dropshipping, Amazon FBA and print on demand services. I'm the type of person who takes action. Sometimes I do so while missing the obvious things others tell me.

Fast forward a couple months to January 2018. I am brought on orders for the Army National Guard and I'm commuting 1 hour one way to the armory for the foreseeable future. I decide to download Unscripted on audible and listen to it during my commute since I can't read my kindle and drive (side note I personally loved MJs style in Unscripted more than Millionaire Fastlane ).

I get to the chapter where he talks about the commandment of entry and it smacks me right in the face. Literally everything I had tried up to this point violated this commandment to the letter. Hell, dropshipping and print on demand were specially mentioned in the book as violators!

Fast forward to July 2018. Our deployment is in full swing and I decide enough is enough. I have been fighting all these years against what I know I need to do because it is hard. I've always been a thinker and doer. I see products and think "I could do better." So here I am, working on developing my own products while deployed.

I see now what MJ was talking about. How many are willing to wake up at 0400 EVERY MORNING, sit behind a desk for 5 hours THEN START THE WORK DAY till 1700, workout, read something that improves the mind, sleep then wake up and do it all over again. Day in and day out, day in and day out. I realize now I have to do what others wont to achieve what others can't.

To everyone who was harsh to me in that thread all those months ago I want to say thanks. That was the ice water in the face that I needed.

Thanks,

CPT Davis

What are you doing that doesn't violate the commandment of entry? Why is dropshipping and FBA considered to violate entry?

Everyone and theyre dog does FBA + dropshipping @The Abundant Man

Your military training should put you ahead of 99% of people on the planet in terms of discipline/mental strength.

Take advantage of that.

Is there a way to get FBA + Dropshipping to not violate the entry commandment? I guess how could one be successful with dropshipping?

How can you make a way for it not to violate entry, when it violates entry? lol..

I'm sure you can make money with FBA & Dropshipping (even affilate marketing I know of someone thats made 7+ figures in Vancouver) but you should refer to this thread by MJ

*UNSCRIPTED* - What's your focus? Making pennies? Or Millions?
That thread's about why compound interest sucks and you shouldn't rely on it but it has nothing about why FBA and Dropshipping sucks.

Some call it inventing. Others call it product development. Either way, I'm coming up with new products, improving on existing products or attempting to solve problems that need solving. I'm innovating for the market and providing a service to others.

For example, I am currently working on a product that could potentially save the lives of children who overdose on medications because they can bypass the child-resistant caps they come with. I saw my own daughter get into one of these containers.

It takes time...A LOT OF TIME...to study the marketplace, learn about the industry I'm trying to enter, learn about patents, CAD design, manufacturing....you get the idea. That's a lot more work than signing up with Shopify, adding products from AliExpress and using Facebook Ads to find "customers."

3 years ago I had three goals.

1. Command a combat engineer company (added bonus: do so on a deployment)
2. Make enough money through my job(s) to allow my wife to come home and raise our kids.
3. Become a product developer and see my ideas turned into products sold in stores.

1. Check and ongoing. Been in command since September 2017 with 93 hardened men under my command. I love these guys and made a promise to their families to bring them all home safe.

2. As of two days ago, I have fulfilled that promise to my wife. A little over 3 years ago we sat down at our office conference table (we work together...I'm a mechanical engineer/project manager and she's a pipeline drafter) and I wrote out a plan to get her home on yellow sticky notes. I still have them somewhere in the house.

3. Since I was a kid I wanted to invent things. It was hard so I never pursued it. But with the support of my wife and two children, I have found the drive to pursue this goal. 4 am used to feel miserable. Now, it's the easiest part of the process. I'm now excited to wake up and punch the universe in the face until I reach my goal.

Make some new goals and/or adjust these goals, it will keep the fire stoked.
I'm in the process of doing the same as I coach sports and just recently achieved a National Championship, which of course renders my prior aspirations as a coach less engaging and won't keep me fired up to keep pushing forward. Keep after it.

Great I remember MJ saying in an interview if you don’t know what to do after reading the book then read it again
