Yeah waking up today stung a bit.

Couldn't help be reminded of this funny video:

Now, of course history can't repeat itself forever, so I wouldn't take this video as gospel, but as a funny little musing and comfort it's pretty on point :p

Man I really need to hone this skill of mine. Just last night I called this BEFORE 14,000 was hit. And it already went ahead and hit the 12,000 mark. As you can see I'm not exact, as I called closes but it's obvious I'm on to something, right? On the last bitcoin thread here at the forum from, what, 3 or 4 years ago I also made a call that was also accurate. (and I've also called several odds and ends on the forum on various stocks over the years - not 100% but definitely in the 90s. And I always call before the moves) I think 9500ish is possible - but I have to see closing prices to confirm. But the way this is going it truly might hit it today (closes are important to this system I've developed over the last 2 decades. wow time flies)

I should've teamed up with a fundamentalist...

you're welcome! lol

You're gonna get so many people panic selling. I've been watching crypto viideos of people saying buy x coin it's going to the moon! And I was reading tons of comments from people saying "where/how to a buy x coin??" These are the type of people who are gonna panic. So many people are getting in crypto that have no idea about the tech, about how markets work, etc. I am going to be holding though.

It's human nature though. That's the thing. You can't ignore it.

edit: to be honest, but I didn't mention it here and wish I did, I also knew when bitcoin broke out after the last selloff just before this last major run

edit: here's where it gets crazy - from my avatar you can see that 'timing' is very much a part of who I am. It's been ingrained in me from a very young age and has been developed and refined to this day. I often wonder about this. I don't get it but sometimes I shake my head at how accurate some of the calls are that I've made

Ya'll just remember this...
It's just money.

For me, it doesn't even feel like that. Just a number on a screen that magically appeared, and just as easily, can magically disappear. Like with my option profits, it doesn't compute as profit until I convert the "screen gains" until actual dollars sitting on a desk.

I saw it last night as well and sold my Litecoin, my biggest holding, because it was sliding deep and fast. Got up this morning, everything had lost ground. Took that money and diversified among 7 other coins.
Most are heading up this am. No need to panic. Corrections will come. Read up on technical analysis/elliots wave ,etc. I'm not interested in trading often, but it will help calm your nerves to understand how the market moves and the psychology of what is happening. The market will always move up and down and corrections is a part of it.

It is not about being right or wrong.

It's about how much money you make when you're right and how much money you lose when you're wrong.

So how much money did you make from correctly predicting the crash?

It is about right and wrong because I have yet to see anyone else do this. Someone else mentioned elliot wave and technical analysis books and my thought to that is that's a knee jerk response that I've seen several times and good luck with that. Making money in anything parabolic is as easy as getting in before the last second doubters get in - but also getting out without emotional holding. (which is one reason why derivatives make sense) And as far as me making money in this or anything I call - what's that got to do with the price of eggs in China? I've not trading anything for several years. I have, however, made several correct calls on the forum here over the years, before the fact, just to help those that weren't sure about something. And yes, I also know what your rebuttal will be.... go! And no, I won't be replying to it.

I panicked and sold 77% of my holdings. I'm too emotional for this $hit...

Even if the rest drops to 0, I still made a 200% profit in cryptos. Better than any other trading I have ever done.

Thanks for the cheap BTC.

Wish I didn't buy at a high on Wednesday, but I can't complain too much. Had the chance to buy some more today on sale. Looking forward to the rebound after the bubble everyone said would happen.

This video is amazing. Is he really so oblivious to the fact that it is worth more after each crash than before the crash?

People are spoon fed their ideas so much and can't think freely and interpret the data themselves. Although that is what this forum is based on, it still amazes me.

@James Fend Your strategy should have worked out beautifully today if it is anything like mine. ;) Unfortunately I missed the opportunity today for the super cheap door buster sales on BTC and LTC. The ride may not be over yet, jury is still out.

I would imagine you crushed it today with all the volatility.

Does that hold true for losses too? Could you write off money you lost in bitcoin?
Yes, you can take short-term capital losses on it. Or long-term if you held the coins for over 1-year.

Net short-term gains against short-term losses.

Net long-term gains against long-term losses.

Keep an eye on 14,000ish over the next few days. If it closes below it I think 12,000ish MAY be the next stop.

you're welcome
14,000 ON. THE. DOT. Explain that. So from here, its in an uptrend still. Watching for the next close to give further indication

I've called exact bottoms to the penny numerous times throughout the years. This shit freaks me out

I know someone who took a hit with btc and it is worrying how many people seem to think this is the only way they can ever be successful. The fact that he had pretty serious mental health and depression issues before this makes it even more worrying.

He seems to be confusing his computer science skills for day trading expertise though...

Huh? BTC dropped to $11,500 today...

Was just mentioning how my history has been with this ability I've developed over the years. You know, I even called the exact bottom (not to the penny but if I remember right it was within a 3 day time block) in the SP500 after the RE crash. Sorry for the confusion. Wasn't referring to the exact bottom in BTC. If I had access to better charting software there may have been some of the indications I look for which could've identified today's bottom. What I used was just a random service I found through search. I'm not really sure what's out there for TA w/cryptos.

This is difficult to communicate sometimes but I mentioned yesterday that 12,000"ish" was on the radar depending on the relationship to if 14,000ish would even be hit and if so, how the closing price related to this 14,000 point. I called this yesterday before 14,000 was hit. You never know how fast some of these trading vehicles can move and today both of the points I mentioned were hit and then it came back to close at about 14,000. There was alot of accuracy in my calls. And although weakened, from what I see there hasn't been a confirmation of change in trend yet in BTC which is what I was getting at with my last post. Hope this all makes sense

You can't deny the accuracy of this call! It was pretty damn close to perfect and purdy too! lol:hilarious:

Lmao. Quit stroking yourself. Throw some skin in the game then you can talk some smack. You are bumping your gums but it's worthless. Lol. Hey. I made a prediction and it came out true. Well. Sorta. I didn't really benefit from it. Lol. STFU.

Judging by the lack of likes on your posts, people don't seem to care for the way you communicate how great you are.
