TAMPA BAY, FL Fastlane Meetup

I don't think the main part of the storm is going to hit Tampa, but the eastern side of FL might get hit still.

I'm going to be out in the field pretty much the entire time before and after the hurricane so rescheduling would be great.

If the hurricane ends up hitting us and does a lot of damage, let's do our best to help out wherever we can!

Agreed. Even if the hurricane doesn't direct hit the gulf coast, it's so damn big, it'll be stupid trying to go out Saturday night.

However, if any of the Tampa crowd needs and extra hand with anything or help, let me know!

Definitely avoid I-75 at all costs.

I was originally scheduled to fly out Monday for some big events here in AZ... and I knew they were going to cancel any flights Monday so I flew out early... funny because we basically flew through the gulf storm that's going on -- worst turbulence I've ever experienced!

Anyways -- I'll see you guys all in a couple weeks.

Damn, was secretly wanting to go to this meetup because I actually have a business going now. Anyway...

Was watching Fox 13 for the 11PM update by Paul Delegatto.

He said at the current projections he thinks we might get category 2-3 winds in Tampa with a 4'-6' storm surge. Fort Myers would get a 20' storm surge because of the 155MPH winds.

However, he mentioned that if it tracks west just a little bit more (and he emphasized that it very well could), then Irma could strengthen and bounce off the Gulf coast. That'd be 155MPH winds off Tampa Bay. That could mean a 20'+ storm surge in Tampa Bay...

Paul Delegatto looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. I, nor my parents, have ever seen him so depressed on TV. His issue is he doesn't want to scare Tampa people, but he also doesn't want to give them a false sense of security.

Stay safe folks. The best case scenario is still gonna be category 2 or 3 winds. We'll know more at the 8AM update.

I am crazy busy right now, the aftermath of this hurricane has turned into a gold mine, but at the cost of my time to manage it all.

It will be tough to get out, but I will try to stop by (maybe 630 if I can get out there).

Honestly, completely unaffected. There were some more rural areas that had power issues and flooding, but Tampa and surrounding cities had minimal damage. Places closer to Orlando got the worst winds.
