just a thing on my mind, my eventual fast lane goal which requires a small amount of $ is currently being executed by someone currently atm, theyve partnered up with a large brand that invested about $15m.

so, ''my idea'' is certainly valid, and as I build myself up I will be eventually competing / co-existing with this other brand.
toying with the small execution of hosting an event, have the possibility of maybe making a small amount that I can scale. less talking more doing!

should be fun. lets see how i do! within the next few weeks I should be good to go

pondering my next steps, right now focusing on growing my client list bigger and bigger but what about winter? ive done something and created a very small income for myself. still not driving a lamborghini! but hustling a few dollars is a good feeling.

i feel as if i want to go for a full out sprint but there are no paved trails so im cutting them down with my lawnmower...(haw haw)

ive been trying to get sales for an item, no dice... will keep going at that, sales is the ultimate fastlane

back to the grind

no sales... :( reading unscripted and will go advertise more flyers in a different city for lawncare.

really like the idea of online sales although its been quite tough, been offering a product in a niche to people on face book that have liked a certain page and no sales at all.

walk by rolls royce & lamborghini almost every day! its right by my storage unit / unscripted study spot!

anywhoo no bites on my fb leads. this is highly discouraging! made alot of attempts to sell but no bites. i really believe e-commerce / online sales is something that cannot be ignored, especially because of the scale and it makes CENTS. the problem (we) have is over saturation. everyone is doing it (ok we break the entry rule oops)

liking unscripted so far!

possibly have a few more clients , found some properties that looked horrible. even dropped off a flyer to this one house, oh geez bentley, the huge g class suv thing mercedes & and sedan mercedes. some of the houses around here are insane, these 10+ million dollar mansions are bigger than the apartment complex i used to live in!

and i thought to myself, as a lamborghini aventador drove by........

the people living in these houses must of cut alot of lawns! :hilarious:

What are you wearing when you meet clients for the first time?

I mowed lawns when I was younger and we made sure to wear pleated khaki shorts, a fresh tucked in polo shirt, and clean sneakers. We looked like dorks, but clients liked it.

This thread makes me want to start mowing lawns again, but apply a fastlane process to it.

Online booking, clean uniforms, A+ customer service, etc.

atm i am wearing normal clothes, usually black pants and a tshirt, considered making custom t shirts and making up a name although i am taking the 'neighbor next door' or just a kid going around the neighborhood approach. thinking big & acting small, perhaps another approach would be more effective, not sure.

as for a fastlane process im sure its reasonable, ideally being overbooked with clients > hiring/training workers to take over the workload would be the optimal situation, whilst focusing on more advertising etc. can we make 100 million dollars? probably not! but making a few bucks a month doesn't really hurt. and we may focus on bigger and better ventures

for customer service i try to do my best, remain happy & enthusiastic, also a small trick. if i am done a job and paid ill still hang out and do a little extra something, clear up some weeds and whatnot & ask if there is anything needed & if they are happy with my work! always have in my mind a customer or ?client is my personal GOD or slavemaster, weird thinking maybe but at the end of the day, this person is giving me *value coupons!* and i aim to please them. i do have repeat clients, so i guess im not doing to bad, still dont have a lamborghini though but i do have one hell of a nice lawnmower.

acquiring clients has been harder than expected, infact i assumed it would be a bit easier, but as ive mentioned before alot of the property's are already maintained, funny thing today i saw a fellow competitor working on a lawn and for a brief second i thought to myself i should go undercut this guy & offer a lower price. when reality struck me and i thought since im looking at a 10 million dollar mansion i dont think the property owner will be to concerned with a $10 discount.

enjoying unscripted !! really loved the story of the man in heaven and hell. im around that part right now.

ive been doing a little bit of brainstorming of products to retail online, talk about that another time!

i was just thinking of something funny, and a thing to sell... in the book how MJ was talking about sports, how people are so passionate of sports. lol imagine targeting niches in nfl, nhl or whatever.. having a shirt or hat anything really that says **** the other team. perhaps the idea is bad itself, but the logic of making a sale based on irrational emotional is what im trying to get across, could see a potential in a market like that, then acquiring potential customers through facebook, instagram, hosting events and then hustling 24/7 for sales...

i think i could be headed in the proper direction with a thought process such as this.

Later in the day going to a different city and taping flyers around the neighbourhood...feel tired, been running at 6 in the morning on 3 hours sleep, cheers

In another section of the (two city's) I have clients in, scoping out the area, ***** a lot of these properties are already in good condition, but I have a handful of potential prospects so will continue going around and taping these flyers. Now this has not been as easy I thought it would be like I said before..I feel as if I should be investing my time within another venture. Ah, I just skimmed over the part in unscripted when mj talks about cutting loose. I've been thinking of fastlane ventures to pursue and one thing has crossed my mind. As a kid I've always had a ...... Passion ah! I hear mj screaming from his mansion! Now! I've had an obsession for video games, and have considered giving app development a try, I came up with some ideas, googled them and voila! I'm about a decade late, ( I have no knowledge of apps) and people have executed my ideas. Now, this is something that would take months to learn and pursue, so in the mean time............. < blank > I've considered ecommerce, yet have being having no luck selling a test item which is discouraging. Do have a concept that I *think* would be a huge market in vancouver or other similar areas, although funding an invention may be an issue so getting a *puke* job may be in the horizon

There are some people in a diff country that have a product id like to redesign, then brand it has my own, there's a similar product in a different category? That's retailing for about $1000 or so, I see a ton of people using it!

You live in a high end community,
Are your flyers designed and copywrited high end ? Your flyer needs to stand out. There are many landscapers looking to grab this clients
Most off these people are fed up dealing with small business owners that never performs, bad service,...
You need to be different and explain through your marketing pieces what your usp is. And be at your best every time.

my flyer is quite simple, you can check it out here! i try to keep the costs low to print these, and have about 6,000 of them..quite a few of them have already been distributed through 3 areas. i spent about $50 or so on them and at less than 1% conversion rate im profitable. not a fast lane business, but i am gaining experience point as MJ says in the book unscripted . in the future i will post about my small journey and thoughts for anyone else interested in doing something similiar.

in the meantime some of them have been working! its a joy to see my phone blowup with text messages and phone calls, its basically like hey i want to give you my money! for the past few days ive been killing myself with going back and forth between clients, id be finishing a property sweeping and cleaning then id get a call and have to rush over to another property to do another job, finish that relax, and at night time people are calling me asking to come by the next day, so i have been doing ok. it is a horrible feeling for me though when i have people calling me from a different city and i am miles away working on a property, although i'll just schedule them for another day.

i must say i feel proud of myself that ive created something for myself where i can earn money without having to deal with begging for a job and be available at certain times, granted i am still not fastlane at all but ive tasted the cake to say the least, i cannot imagine any reason at all as to why i could not turn this into a small passive venture and hire people eventually to do some small labor work. will i make millions of dollars? no, but as ive said before making a few dollars by managing a tiny business cant hurt while i can focus on bigger and better things.

i felt highly discouraged weeks ago by having no inquiries of my services but now i have a tiny snowball that is rolling down the hill. as the wise felix dennis mentioned said, never give in, even a stone wall can be broken down with enough hits....or you could just buy a wrecking ball..

spent the weekend with different friends! and was receiving texts asking me to do properties, and i imagined the divorce of time & money. how lovely it would be as im talking to a client at my friends house enjoying my free time to make a single phone call and send someone to do the job for me & get paid. actually ive had a few clients offer a pre payment plan, so this * is * a possibility for me.. funny thing, went to a friends that happens to be Brazilian, inside a group of extremly gorgeous women....i say hello as a typical Canadian and talk with a different group outside on the patio near the BBQ, another Brazilian walks in and kisses all the girls, which later everyone laughed at me for not doing...(im one of 2 Canadians in a house filled with Brazilian people) apparently the way they introduce themselves is to always kiss & hug strangers, ha!

around chapter 34 or so with unscripted , somewhere in there MJ talked about the tshirt buisness which is something ive thought of and already failed in if you read a few posts above, with alot of people on ** this forum ** talking of e-commerce i think its a crock of bs, nice to see MJ shared his viewpoint in the book which is similar to my thinking in the industry... on the other hand, the idea of creating a product and retailing it seems appealing (through creating my own website) etc.

have lots of work ahead of me, have a good day!

ah, forgot to mention this was a beautiful feeling. had a client that was a minute down the road from my old work, i worked monday to thursday, 9 - 5:30 and friday 9-6, saturday 9 - 5:30 and Sunday 10-5, usually 5 days a week, but sometimes all week occasionally. one of the managers is a homeless heroin junkie. anyways, i went by to get food so im across the street at 7/11 thinking and slightly regretting I did not take the current actions I am doing now (or at least a different mindset) I spent the whole year (2016) working as a wage slave making dog crap for pay, minimum wage... and here I am, sleeping in working on my own time earning way more money independently rather than being at a shitty job.i made over 3 hours pay in under an hour on my own schedule. it was a cool feeling.

funny story, got a multi gazillionaire client in kits. gave him a lowball quote on cutting (my friends are saying i charge to little) and as he asked me again how much to pay as hes pulling out his wallet filled with bundles of cash literally and i said a measly $20...lol, prolly could of said any number and i doubt he would care.

went around the neighborhood in a different area, and the majority of houses are maintained, funny seeing lamborghinis and ferraris drive by me. will be going around again tomorrow

still not done unscripted ! but as ive said quite a few homes are maintained right now. dont think ive mentioned this before in the thread but i am planning on moving to europe near the end of august. kits is a nice area but in the winter and spring it is very depressing with almost daily rain.

so im having thoughts of violating the whole book ironically enough and picking up a side job, for the past few weeks i have not been working and while i am working on my own business perhaps a crappy job for a bit before i fly away to feed myself and have an extra value vouchers in a foreign part of the world may be necessary.

learning a 3rd language in the meantime!

went to the consulate today and encountered a problem...need my parents documents to get my European passport, blah.. besides that im basically in the clear to get my passport i believe..will have to dig into this

tomorrow will be going around the neighborhood in a different area distributing more flyers. for this month i should have a few clients that are repeat (again) so i make a bit of money but am nowhere close to clearing millions of dollars. chuckled about the part MJ said mowing lawns at the golf course near the kinetic execution chapter lol.

i have a client that has netted me in the baby 3 figure range! 100+ value vouchers baby!
