Clueless on Lead Generation for Scale

I give a couple small businesses (people with side businesses) a credit card with a small limit (10-20k). I sign off on every PO, then they use my credit card to buy materials, etc, and I get paid on pay ~6%. It's easy and pretty safe, but up until now I've been dealing only with people I know and I've still passed on some deals.

The problem is: I am clueless on how to create a reliable lead funnel to find new projects.

I have an acquaintance who does bridge financing, startup financing, etc, and he charges people for "workshops" to review people's business plans, then, when he sees opportunities he likes, he creates financing packages for them. The problem is that like most of the guys in this business, he basically just rapes everyone with fees and doesn't provide a lot of value added.

Anyone on the forum with any ideas, however left field, to generate leads for this I need your help! I've got mental block or something.
