This is kind of a random post, but I guess that's why we have the "Off-Topic" section here.
I guess this is just part of growing up, but I never really noticed (until now) how much people really change. I've seen this happen with family, friends, and just anybody I really get to know.
I know it's part of life, but I really don't want to change. It's not that I'm afraid of change, either; I just don't think this kind of change is for the better. I like being happy all the time, joking around a lot, and just enjoying myself. I guess that's part of being 17, but why can't I do that when I'm 50?
I was talking to my aunt the other day, and she was telling me stories about different people in my family. It's amazing how you can see the effects of certain events years later.
It seems to me like everything you hear only makes you more and more bitter and cynical about life.
Some things are based on decisions, but others just happen. I never realized how much people can change, though. I know part of growing up is learning new things -- some of which may change you. But why?
I keep hearing things that make me think differently about people and about life. I know everybody has these moments, and I really think they shape who you become. I just don't think it's for the better.
When you're young, everything seems so promising. It seems like as you age, everything you hear kind of diminishes that purity and hope inside of you.
Okay...rant over. I'm not even sure that made sense. Any thoughts/comments?
