What do you think of my "How to Play" video? Does the video do a good job at clearly describing how to play? What would you change if you could?

So far, the suggestions I have are:
  • Change the background music - it's out of place
  • Change the voiceover - it sounds like a used car ad
  • Change the Australian accent card - doesn't work for Australians

Wade, the video looks great! I like how the instructions are simply explained.

Graphics look really good.

Voiceover is good.

I would agree however, about the music. It doesn't seem to fit quite right.
I can't think of a good alternative right now but will let you know if I do.

Hmmm... interesting.

I thought the voice-over is great actually.

Background music IS a little out of place but it's ok.

1. Who is watching this?

Have they purchased the game already? Are they getting excited about the game to buy it?

It really feels like the video is split between trying to sell it and trying to explain how to play... choose one or the other because if I bought the game, I don't want to be resold. If I haven't bought the game I need to understand it.

Maybe that's as simple as a copy change from "how to play" to "How it's played"

2. Intro?

My second thought is the intro is WAY too long.

Chick smashes button. Logo falls on her. She says "Poor Choices. The Game" (without the really slow read). 5 seconds max. Boom boom boom.

This could be a case of one person's opinion. I'm going to change a few things in the script, so maybe I'll have the same guy do it but change his tone a bit.

I think changing the background music may actually work better with the voice. Quite a few people have mentioned they don't like the music, so that's a done deal.

People seeing this video have not bought the game, but only because it's not available yet. After the Kickstarter, the people that see the video will be split, but probably still favoring those that haven't bought the game. Good point though, How It's Played does work better here. Good suggestion.

Someone just mentioned this to me. I agree. Originally I planned on the intro being five seconds. That's probably the best way to do it. Thanks dude.

And by the way, congratulations on no longer having fried hair :)
