6. It’s hard to spend all of your money once you’ve made it big. I found this one a bit unusual because we always hear stories about athletes who made millions and ended up bankrupt.

Get 10 scoops of ice cream for yourself, good sir!

Thanks Icy... You misunderstood what I said, Trust me it is real easy to spend money, once you accept you are going to spend it. But there is a time before when 25k a month would 100% change your life, pay all your bills, save a ton, if at that point you just dont make the choice to be stupid you will be fine. You will get to a point where it will be hard to spend the money, to spend 25k a month you have to buy crap you never thought you would.

I was all fine until I got to a few 100k in the bank and then it was I can buy that car, that watch go on that trip. 9 years of party party party. Then BAM over. Had I not made the choice to be stupid. I could of had millions and millions.

. Don’t be greedy, make it a win-win for everyone involved. Being greedy might make you more money on the first few deals, but it will destroy the possibility of the additional 10 deals that you could’ve made after.

My psychological "wallet" is tiny compared to some other people. I need to aim for bigger numbers.

It makes feel an underlying sense of moral obligation to start a domino effect and give back to others.

some real core "drunken" Jack Edwards Ice Cream right there.

and those Social networks, and T-shirts are awesome!

Rem - That was a stupendous post! I transferred some of my Rep Bank money to you I loved it so much. I am struggling with my wife and going through many of the same issues. For instance, we are going down to Phoenix on vacation in a couple of weeks. She wants us to move down there from Minnesota (temperature reasons), so I am trying to figure out how to sell my real estate in MN and buy down there instead (or some model like that). So I told her I would drive to Albuquerque one-1.5 days while we are down there and discuss it with the mighty "Z".

Her answer was "you are not spoiling our vacation to go see some internet scam artist that you have some weird man crush on."

But I think a lot of the issues are me. I get mad or sad or depressed when she doesn't see my point of view. It's time to take our relationship by the cajones and exude that positive energy. Nobody likes to be around people who just mope around when they don't get their way.

I guess my big question in all this is how people manage to balance their family life and their fastlane endeavors? That seems to be My wife and I's biggest problem - especially since the bulk of my time is at my full-time corporate job? I have a bunch of real estate properties but not enough to quit my regular job. But I can't ramp up the real estate (or copywriting or whatever fastlane thing) much without keeping commitments to the family. I want to give my family ice cream, but they don't want me to take the time away from them making it. My wife is not into the entrepreneurial thing AT ALL.

Any thoughts on that anyone?

Bueller?
Hey thanks. I skipped all the way ahead to reply to this. One of the traps I really struggled with was trying to "get her to see the light" or to "get her to agree with me" or "get her to understand where I am coming from" or to "get her to see her own crappiness." This ultimately leads to bigger problems. Spiraling into the abyss of negativity. This is why so many people mope about and are depressed and everything is about how they are a victim. Once you realize, and I know it's tough... (super duper tough), to put yourself above the situation and look down on things from a 3rd person point of view, then you can see the laws of nature at work. You are NOT going to change her simply by acknowledging your findings to her. She will resist and resist and you will ultimately push her away. Laws of physics... like a magnet repelling another magnet. Flip the magnet around 180 degrees and there is attraction. You need to attract. So the best way is to become the person you have to be and don't look back. For every time your wife makes a negative comment, fire back with the most awesomest positivism you can imagine. Just smother her and the world with positive energy. She deserves it and so do you. People just don't know how they get to these places and they need help.

It doens't happen over night but just as in business it takes motivation first in order to execute, and in order to be motivated you need positive vibes, the same exists with your marriage. It takes execution. To execute you need love present. Love is the motivator. But for love to exist you need to feelings and the vibes. You were there once with her and you can bring it back, before everyone started focusing on the negative CRAP! It's all stupid crap. Reverse it.

She snaps at you. Ah well, it's not about you. It's about her. So don't fall into the abyss. Don't repel by snapping back. Flip 180 degrees and attract. Give her a flower, a kiss on the cheek, tell her how pretty she is...

So much truth here and it can be SO hard to do at times when you want her to understand your POV.
Enormously powerful when you do it though.

I'm going to add a bit to this thread if IceCreamKid doesn't mind...

Business isn't done in a vacuum. Sure, you can build a website, or 300 of them, but if you lock yourself up in your basement, and never go out, and MEET people, and track down people that share your views on life - you're seriously missing out. The more connections you make, the faster you can move with your business.

And guess what? All of the business people I've met, LOVE to have fun. They need to get out, and blow off some steam. They go to bars, they go to Vegas parties. When you meet someone, in person, a connection is made that can never be had in an email or on the phone. I've seen this, and have done this first hand. I go out 2-3 nights a week, with two goals: to blow off steam, and to increase my social skills.

Want to know something funny? I've met business people, out at night, randomly. Not only that, but improving myself, socially, I've been able to connect with powerful business people ($1m+ month type people).

Get out of your vacuum, go meet some people.

You want to get to know someone? Is there something you need from someone? Got a vendor/supplier you need to get a hold of? Show up at their DOOR.

Stand out, and get noticed.

Make Connections.

Go.

I dont have many/any "businessman" type people in small town I live right now, but I guess if I will connect with business people online I will be fine, at least for now untill I move to bigger city, Iam correct?

Ladybirds and gentledudes! The ice cream flavored marketing thread is now open...only on the INSIDE though.

You've been on the fence about coughing up $80 to show thanks to MJ for everything you've learned. Cancel a few trips to Starbucks so you can save some money and get an INSIDERS subscription. You'll learn more about business in there than you ever would in business school. Trust me, I went to business school LOL I learned nothing actionable there...and I spent thousands of dollars for it. $80 sounds more than fair, yea?
You should send flyers to your former business school's to invite them to become INSIDERS this forum.LOL You'll save their money.

Ahhh I get what you mean now. I still remember the day I made the conscious choice to stop being stupid with my money. I worked full time while being a full time college student. I stayed at home with my parents at the time so it should've been quite easy to save money. Nope. The day after graduation, I took a look at my bank account and saw I overdrafted for the first time. That's when I got really angry with myself because it seemed dumb as heck to be paying a $20 overdraft fee...it's like throwing money away.

In retrospect, that overdraft fee was the best thing that ever happened to me because it made me realize that I gave up thousands of hours of my life working during college only to end up with $0.

I now have a rule for myself that if I ever wish to buy an expensive toy that has monthly payments, I must buy a rental property that cashflows enough to pay for the toy each month.

Let's hope that rule doesn't suddenly change when I get to that few $100k mark that you speak of lol

I’m Running Scared Shitless Almost All The Time

Hollywood has somehow painted this distorted picture that true entrepreneurs are fearless action takers…almost like they’re superheroes.

Let me tell you something about myself. I’m running scared shitless almost all the time. I think it’s natural to feel that way when you’re doing things that you’ve never done before. You don’t see a safety net and you’re constantly pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone. I don’t know if the day will ever come that I’m not running scared.

I don’t know how or when it clicked, but at some point I learned to attack my fears. It became an automatic response that whenever I felt scared in business, it’s a signal that I absolutely should take action. It’s weird and I can’t explain how I conditioned my mind to do this. Maybe I just stopped giving a shit and started taking action in the face of fear.

JackEdwards wants me to assemble an army of salespeople to start selling my stuff throughout the United States. Am I scared? Hell yea, I’ve never done something like that before and I have no idea what the heck I’m getting myself into. Am I going to let the fear paralyze me into inaction? Heck no. I'm gonna do it, I don't care. All I know is I'm going to execute as fast as I can and have fun throwing ice cream in the air while I'm doing it. I won't be able to donate to charity and learn more lessons to share with you guys if I don't keep pushing my limits. It's gonna be a party.

When you’re at the bottom of the mountain, it’s easy to look at the huge hike ahead of you and get discouraged from even trying. Shut off your brain and just start. By golly just start! Stop thinking, old sport! Just start! There comes a point when you’re already halfway up the mountain and you’ve gone too far to ever consider reversing back. You have no choice but to keep pushing because of how much time and energy you’ve invested into the mission.

Anyway, the point I want to make is this: you will always be confused before things start to make sense…and the only way for things to make sense is for you to take action. Action is the bridge that connects you to the conclusions for the “what if” scenarios playing throughout the back of your mind.

Stop reading 1st grade motivational books, inspirational quotes, escaping into your iPhone games, and whatever crap you do to escape your reality.

Attack your fears…or live the rest of your life knowing that you didn’t live up to the greatness that is within you.

Take action. Get the ice cream.

You’re gonna like who you become…because it’s not the money that’s valuable, but the person you grow into that’s valuable. If some of the big boys on this playground lost everything today and had to start with $0 they would build it all back even better and faster than before, ultimately emerging as millionaires once again.

Holy moly! You guys got busy! What an astonishing shower of gold falling from the sky you guys created! And in so few words!

Instructions:
Expand your mental wallet by making win-wins, and giving in a domino effect
Attack your fears
Business isn't done in a vacuum, its about the connections we create
Its not you, your ideas, it is what you are doing, and time to see the power of changing what you do

Builds it:
You visualise the result that impacts change. Then courage, worthwhileness, and generosity gets you there. Gets you creating and working your a$$ off.

That is indeed a zen******* secret exposed. A very humble thankyou Jack, JasonR, zen******* and Ick!

This thread really lives up to the name. Quite badass!

@IceCreamKid , I am reading your post and thread seeking to understand how did you do that.
So you said that to find people need, we need to love them, to have concern about them.
And then from that I will see what people need.
How do you know that this particular need, is the one that you choose to pursue? Or you pursue many of them?

My situation right now is looking for the need that I can fulfill. I am reading vigilante post and now seeking things to impors to Indonesia. I have many ideas too but actually I sometimes confused what should I do right now.

I don't want to be only wannapreneur, I want to act.

There's no way to 100% guarantee that the need you are serving will bring you millions. There is always some level of risk involved. You can lower your risk by trying to get pre-sales up front. Another good indicator is if there are other companies already providing the product/service, but there is something about it that the customer is not happy with. Competition is a good thing most of the time because it validates that there is money in the niche that you are trying to attack.

It is possible to create your own niche, but it is not my preference. Some do this and do very well for themselves.

There are many ways to dress your mistress.

Yeah!!!
ICK wins!!! And he totally deserves it!

Just goes to show, that those that contribute value get it back. Great jobs guys!
That in itself is one of the greatist lessons here. Ryan gave out a load of icecream, and he himself found the reward. ACTION takers won, and the evidence is right in front of us all!

Get the ice cream!

@IceCreamKid .... are you aware of this guy ? One of our members brought him to my attention...either he hasn't hit warp speed popularity yet or I'm late to the party. Watched 2 videos...wow...reminded me of your postings. Amazing stuff !

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=simon sinek&sm=3

This guy sounds like he's a member of the ice cream children.

It seems to me that there are 2 phases that an entrepreneur goes through...

Phase 1 is mindset: Unlearning everything that society brainwashed you with, understanding that the givers are the ones who ultimately receive the most, learning about fear, developing good habits, understanding people, challenging your limits, never giving up, etc.

Phase 2 is action: Learning how to create your product, learning how to distribute your product and take action on it, learning how to market the product and take action on it, learning to reach out to others...this is where the meat is.

You know what helps me determine which phase someone is in? Their use of words.

"Thank you so much for your posts, bro you've inspired me!"
Inspiration generally doesn't lead to action for most people. It leads them to feeling awesome inside and that's about it. Keep pushing forward though and you'll eventually hit phase 2.

"Bro I am absolutely committed to building my business. UPS and FedEx wouldn't ship my product so I bought a bus ticket to get the item where it needs to be." The language here is so different. Inspiration is fluff while commitment moves you forward.

Take action daily. Get the ice cream.

All of you inspire me, really. Entrepreneurship, This way of thinking is all new to me. I have always been a low esteem, quiet, hide behind the computer sidewalker, part time slowlaner but I know I am meant for so much more. We all want the wealth that we know is out there to have but I also want to leave my mark and change the world for the better.

When I was a senior in high school a classmate of mine died in a horrible motorcycle accident on the way to school. I was crushed not just by the loss of a classmate but of the loss of such a young life. In a moment of bravery I asked the teacher If I could spill my heart to the class or I would have surely imploded. I forget the words I said now after ""ahem" years but it was along the lines of "value your time here, don't waste it on negative, selfish, ignorant one sided perspectives. Be open to the people and the world around you. Fear, hatred, sadness, bigotry, bullying are all wastes of precious, precious time."

It was a selfish act to bleed my heart out but I also felt I had to grab each and everyone of my friends and classmates and try to wake them up to what time means to each of us and how little that might be.

What really got me was when was when 6 month later at graduation the valedictorian quoted my rant in her speech to the whole graduating class, their families and all the guest there. She gave me credit at least but she didn't have to. She shared my thoughts, my words, my heart to well over a thousand people. My words had affected people and maybe, just maybe made the world a little bit of better place that day

Right now, I am struggling to start my business. obstacle after obstacle is being thrown at me and sometimes I wonder if I'm not good enough to do it. Not smart enough, Not cut-throat enough, not leadership material. On the other hand, I can't fail. I can't. This is where my path has led me and I have to try.

Reading this forum helps me to keep going, my dreams keep me going, wanting to better humanity keeps me going. and getting some ice cream wouldn't be bad either.

Thanks

My friend, the best advice I can give you is to stop giving a shit and give yourself away to the ocean. Instead of fighting the waves and constantly wanting to be right, flow with the waves in a Zenlike manner...using the momentum to push you forward much like a surfer.

This is very abstract and idk how to explain it, but when you experience momentum on your side then you'll finally know exactly what I'm talking about.

The hardest part is getting started, but once you do there's pretty much nothing in your way except yourself.

Leap and the net will appear.

How To Get A Mentor To Drink Coffee With You

One of the most common requests I get is, “Hey I’d like to buy you some coffee if you’re ever in my area so I can pick your brain”.

The request rarely comes with an introduction about themselves, what they do, what they aspire to do, if they’ve taken action or not…nothing.

The reality is this: I’ve had phone mentoring conversations with roughly 30 people here so far and a very small percentage have done anything with what I’ve told them. I’m not angry or surprised by it, but what I want you to realize is that if you wish to stand out to a mentor then you want him to understand that you are different…you’re not going to make him feel ripped off by doing nothing with his advice. You value your time AND his time. Some of the guys on here make millions of dollars each year and 1 hour of their time is literally worth A LOT OF MONEY. They’re busy running businesses and creating neat stuff. If you don’t take action or at least seriously consider their advice then why should they invest their very valuable time in you? Think about it.

Want to know the astonishing secret to drastically increasing the chance that the mentor will say yes to coffee?

1. Do something for them with absolutely zero attachment to your personal gain. Then do it again.

2. After you’ve proven that you’re not just any other guy, THEN ask him for his very valuable time. If he respectfully declines, don’t be bitter…it’s not about you. If anything, he’s just super busy building his business.

3. Keep doing stuff for him when you can then in the future try to ask again. You weren’t born to take value from the world. You’re here to give value…and when you do that, the ice cream gods in the sky will smile upon you and give you your shot of espresso.

Persistence works. Love works.

How To Get A Mentor To Mentor You Long Term

I’m not going to write a long articulated post for this.

Just pledge loyalty to him. You won’t complain if he advises you to do something. You just do it. You should have the option to ask him about his thought process behind why he's having you do certain things so you don't end up blindly doing things without knowing the underlying reason why. He has a $100M mind and you have a $50k mind so chances are he knows or sees something that is a blind spot for you.

Humble yourself and stop thinking that you are always right. Pledge loyalty.
