Well, I have no ticket for b&p, but I booked my flights anyway. I'll be in town Monday-Monday (17th-24th).

If I don't manage to get a ticket I'd love to hang out after hours and what not.

That's what I call commitment! :)

If you want to go, don't count on someone sending you a PM saying their ticket is for sale. Get on the wait list (read the first post in this thread).

Don't wait for something to happen, or you to "luck" into tickets. Just make it happen.

This bothers me. I know of at least one other that would do the same thing. This could get messy at Danielle (I can't spell that name) and Mikes.

What's wrong? If I'm not wanted/invited then I obviously will stay away, no problem. But in the past I know that members have gone off and done their own thing on free days, at which point I'd tag along.

If all else fails, it's a vacation for me, because I'm going no matter what. My tickets are 100% non refundable and 100% booked and paid for.

It's fine. Dinners are only included IF you buy a ticket. We usually hang out or go to the bars in the after hours. I don't think he's expecting to crash Dinner. :)

Edit: Richkid I hope you hopped on the waiting list. :)

Of course. For example a large group goes out clubbing. I'm not certain of the rules. They aren't mine anyway. I felt a need to speak up for our generous host's. Most of us didn't have free days more like free hours and almost not enough of them. For the record, if I had missed my ticket buy I would have been pissed to no end. But, that's all, I'd have to try and score tickets or wait until next time. Besides you know from impressive personal experience that you can go visit forum members outside of B&P.

I'm looking forward to meet you Ryan. I doubt very much that Mike and Daneille would mind a couple extra, especially if they are sincere members of the Fastlane Forum, coming to there party, but even not, good on you Ryan, the step of booking the ticket anyways, is exactly what a winner would do!

When I was a kid I wanted to go to a college 3000 miles from home. I made all my plans and put everything in motion. A month before I was to move across the country, I got a letter saying I was not accepted into the school. I moved anyways. I showed up, showed the admissions people how serious I was, worked through all the objections they had, and they changed their minds and I graduated with honors. I met all the best friends in my life there, including my wife.

Imagine how different my life would have been if I just took that first letter at face value.

Of course. :)

I'm not planning on barging in with no ticket and no invite.

Working on a presentation now and booking rooms in a week or two.

If I get a ticket great, if I don't, still okay, I'll meet some more great people and have a nice vacation at the same time.

We can't open Dinners to people without tickets. It was packed last year, and that was without anyone bringing guests. Also, we have to order food for the people who bought tickets. Just a heads up. Mike and Danielle are kind enough to open their home up, and we just can't start inviting people who didn't buy tickets. :)

If you want to go, get on the wait list!

Just to be clear, I have no intention.. none whatsoever.. of attending any dinners or anything like that, nor have I asked to be included.

Last year there was talk of going to a shooting range, and even a day trip to Vegas if I remember correctly. I would tag along in those instances. There are also native Phoenix people (Phoenixites/Valley People? lol) that I would like to hang out with again, example: Genium. Heck, he doesn't even have a ticket for B&P so I'll know he'll be free at some point :)

Bro, if you're reading this, we still have to make it to the top of Camelback, considering it'll be 40 degress cooler than during our last attempt hahah.

Nobody need worry about me. I can keep myself entertained in that wonderful city once more, and will not attempt to sabotage B&P in any way. If I don't get a ticket, I won't partake in b&p, easy enough.

I made my trip 7 days for this reason. May use the first few days to go to a neighbouring state that I've not yet visited.

Go one better.
Put the money in a paypal escrow. or send it to jasonR. :)

Went one better :D

Via Paypal: 'Ryan, you have sent $250.00 USD to Jason R____.'

**Note I have no idea what a b&p ticket is going for this year so I just took a guess. If I owe more or less I'm good for the difference ;)

Edit: Just found the thread where they're $225. Cool, hope y'all open up more spots or someone bails.

Just a thought, tickets should go from that point in order of the wait list.

At this point anything short of $9500 will not even be looked at. (Bitcoin equivalent amounts are acceptable)... hell, Eskil Paid $10k just for the ticket....

Just a thought, tickets should go from that point in order of the wait list.

Yup, that's exactly what is going to happen IF we decide to open more Spots.

How do we avoid this scenario in the future? I was told I'd be first in line for paying up front, but going by waitlist seems more than fair unfortunately.

A lot of quality people will be missing out from what I can see.. and all because they didn't happen to be online in that 2 minute window when tickets were available.

Maybe turn it into a for-profit (for the organizers) and substantially raise the entry fee? Or donate any profits to charity? Or auction tickets to the highest bidders.. make the market determine the price.

I'd pay a lot more to even just be present in the back corner of the room by myself. Forget dinners if need be, I just want to learn (and contribute if there's time).

Don't put the organizers in an awkward position. Follow their procedure and get on the waitlist if they open more tickets, or solicit people who need to bail to sell you their ticket, exercise some tact and be patient.

They gave plenty of advance notice and reminders on when the tickets would go on sale.

I don't think its a cost question, it is an atmosphere question. Blowing it up into a conference changes it into something that I don't think the organizers intend it to be.

From the first post in the thread it looks like they are already 9 over their intended cap, with a wait list of people. Give these guys a break.

If you were one of the first people on the waiting list and you got through the screening process, then you would be first in line to get a ticket IF we open more.

This whole week we have been screening people on the waiting list to see if it is worth it to open up more spots. It is very easy to tell if someone will be able to contribute or not.

Everyone on the attendees list is already pre-quailifed due to event expectations on willingness to buy when we released the tickets (i.e. they made it a priority).

Some people will always miss out, but we are also exploring all of our options and talking to the group to get feedback constantly.

Lastly, there will be people who drop out as well, so if someone wasn't ready the first time, they most likely will have a few more options. From our end, we know who will pounce on those opportunities just by looking at their actions.

Hope that clarifies some things.

Richkid. The tickets were announced well ahead of time and everyone had the same opportunity to get the tickets. It's not like there was only a set time, it was first come first serve. I was there at the set time and I still couldn't get one, that's how fast they were going.

Hopefully they will open some more slots and I definitely wouldn't mind paying more for them.

Fair enough, understood.

$1,000 usd (or whatever you want really.. ) to the first person that drops out and needs to sell. Will send money within 5 minutes of receiving notice that you need to sell.

Have a good one all.

Not really on the forum every day so missed the explanation with the dates. Thanks for clarifying.

Richkid you're annoying...

Sorry. My fault for not being on the ball to begin with.

I'm just passionate about this and am willing to do what is required to make it happen. I've lucked out thus far on this one (100% my fault), but other than that I've done everything to put myself in a position to reach the goal.

I'll stop hijacking this thread now and wait patiently for updates :)

So this brings up a question.

If I cancel, since I own my ticket and spot, am I able to choose who I sell it to or does it have to be sold to the first person on the waiting list?

Revamp this to be more inclusive. Make it a convention vs. a private club. Open it up. Feed the interest. Figure it out. Make it the biggest event ever. Minimize fractioning off interested people. Or... Keep it a private club and run the risk of having it be obsolete when something else meets a need that is larger than you are willing to accomodate.

I think the cash should be refunded and the ticket should go back the the organizers of the event, and then they can decide what to do with it.

You never know if some people would just buy a ticket to later resell. We do have an entire forum full of entrepreneurs after all? :D
