When I get excited about a book I tend to start giving away copies to friends and associates. I gave away over 25 copies of Doc Searl's 'Intention Economy' last year, and gave everybody at my company a copy of 'Lean Startup' before that, etc.
Oddly, I woke up yesterday with a vague recollection of a dream, in which I gave a copy of Millionaire Fastlane to an ex-bandmate. So I got in touch with him and told him, my exact words:
"I want to send you a book, I want you to read it, and then tell me if it makes a positive difference in your life (don't worry, it's not a bible)"
He's basically living a sidewalk existence. One of the last times I saw him he told me "I'm pushing 45, I have about 20 years before I'm supposed to retire, I'm doubling up shifts at work, taking on another job, I have nothing, and about 20 years to make enough money to retire on".
He won't make it. Not with a union gig in a factory and delivering pizzas on the side. But he's pretty smart, he's one of the few sidewalkers I ever met who reads more (non-fiction) books than he watches TV.
So if there was anybody who has a shot to re-invent himself using this book, he's one. Hopefully he'll run with it.
