Check out this weather forecast for my city for the next 5 days:

Yes, it does say that it's -46 with the windchill.

Are you guys sure you don't want to change the venue for the meet-up and come up to Edmonton for a few days? LOL

Of course in the summer you get to see stuff like the northern lights, so it's not all bad:

The first winter I lived in Edmonton, I felt like I was on the verge of having the flu for 6 months. No matter what I did, I couldn't get warm from October to April.

Buy the next winter, I didn't even really notice the cold too much. I haven't even pulled out the long underwear since that first winter and the last 3 or 4 years I ride my bike (complete with studded tires) all winter long.

It amazing how the body can adapt, now I actually like the winters here.

I know what you mean. Many people feel that the summer heat in Phoenix is brutal. As a runner, I forced myself into the frying pan. As you said, you get used to it. Just need to remember to drink water.

Summertime is great on the golf courses. I play 3-5 times per week. There are very few golfers out in the summer. This allows for fast and inexpensive rounds.

I actually like the heat.

You'd get a laugh here in the summer, people start complaining about how hot it is when it gets to 22 C (or about 70 F).

It drives me nuts, since it's so cold all winter, then the air conditioners all come on the moment it gets a bit warm and we're freezing again.

Jon,

Not to rub it in... ok, maybe it's just to rub it in.

Here's a pic that I took today. Me and SteveO went to the FBR Open practice round. In fact it was so cold (like 65 degrees F) that SteveO had to wear a jacket.

Ouch Bio. I dream a lot about golf this time of year.

They had an LPGA event here last year which was fun. Just think you guys have 3 of Canada's heros in town this week: Gretzky, Nash & Weir.

All I can offer as a rebuttal is this:
