I've got LTE right now and it has taken at least 30 seconds to load this thread. It is nothing special. I actually see no difference from when I had a 3g iPhone.

The same reason they make and sell both vanilla as well as chocolate ice cream :)

Why does anyone use Tapatalk!!?!??!?

3G is fine for a smart phone, but I want 4G/LTE for tethering with my Macbook Air. ;)

Because Tapatalk is great...

A full forum website sucks on a phone. Now everything else... I hate mobile sites.

I have no problems using a full forum site on my iPhone, but I have to admit I've never used Tapatalk.

Apple products all day. Easier to use and great graphics compared to samsung. But if it's going to make you broke, use android they're cheaper.

I have no issue with tapatalk other than the fact that is adds that stupid "Sent from my crappy phone using tapatalk" message at the end of all your posts...

I had an Android phone for 2+ years. Switched to iPhone earlier this year. Love the iPhone, and cannot imaging going back to Android.

My Android phone crashed on me almost daily, as did many of the apps. I've had an iPhone since April and it has not crashed on my 1 single time.

You can prevent this in the settings.

I can also use forums full screen with no problems on my Galaxy Note. But Tapatalk has its benefits since you can get a quicker view of subscribed threads, pm's etc.

I have Galaxy S2. It's a nice product, amazing in some respects, but I don't really like it:
- focusing is really bad. I missed some rare opportunities due to that. Could be just my phone though
- speakerphone is really bad. I can hear people but the microphone does not pickup my voice well enough
- android is a mess compared to ios (I don't have iPhone, so I can only compare to iPad)
- GPS sucks. Sometimes it doesn't lock on for like 15 minutes, sometimes not at all. Hope they fixed it in S3
- Somebody should be hanged for Samsung Kies (the sw you need to connect to the phone from your computer). Yes, it really is that bad.

For everyone that's considering the newest androids it's honestly not a bad choice. The thing about the iPhone is you'll be stuck with them paying about $100 monthly for 2 years. The iPhone can get boring after a while.

And how is that different from the Galaxy? Is it cheaper? I thought the data plans were the same, regardless of the device...

I don't even use a data plan anymore... wifi networks are so abundant that I RARELY have to turn on data for any reason. When I need data I just turn it on and pay per use. I may use $3 in data a month this way and save myself $30-50 per month or whatever the data plan used to cost.

I am lucky I am grandfathered in for unlimited data for just $5 a month :)

Plan is not available for new accounts.

Wow! I'm grandfathered in with Unlimited data with Verizon, but not for that cheap.

I'm preordering a White iPhone 5 tonight on Verizon. So glad to have unlimited 4G everywhere - time to tether with my laptop!

I read somewhere yesterday that if you upgrade to the Phone 5, they force you out of the unlimited data plans. The only way around that is to pay full retail for the phone which I think is $799. Might want to double check that before you buy. That's for Verizon only. AT&T said they will keep it the way it is if I read right.

That's true, for the most part, but I opened another line on a dumb phone I have so I can use the upgrade there. So I'll wind up paying $10 more per month for the new phone (and keep unlimited data on my main line). Gotta love loopholes.

This is exactly what I did...to lose my unlimited data. Used a different number to upgrade, and they took away unlimited data. If I were you I'd pay the $649 or whatever and sell your old phone to recover as much as that as you can.

Maybe time to switch to SPRINT

I think AT&T has the worst business systems and customer service of any company in existence. I will never use any of their services until I die. I only know a few people that use Sprint and their reception is horrible. I love Verizon's coverage where I live but hate that I was forced out of the unlimited data plan. I barely use data in the first place, but if I were to get the iPhone 5 it would be to use more data since that's really the only big difference between that and the iPhone 4. Then, I'm looking at $30-80 more a month. I am seriously considering getting a phone without data capabilities because it's not worth the money to me.

Does anyone know if there is there a way to have an iPhone without the data plan and just use WiFi when available?

The Verizon rep confirmed that I can do this on the phone for me. Perhaps, you switched to a family shared plan (which you cannot keep unlimited data that way). I will not be going to family share plan.

Its all about what you are used to.

Apps are what differenciate phones these days. If you got an iPad, and got lots of apps, then you can have the same versions of the apps on your mobile at no extra cost on the iPhone. And it just works.

I was against Apple products for a while as I was a geeky nerd, needing everything to be open. But that changed.

I got sucked in by the iPod, got the Macbook, got the iPhone 4, then Macbook Air and Apple TV. iPhone 5 will be on my shopping list very soon.

Why?

I love to stream videos from my Macbook anywhere in the world, and play them on the Apple TV with one click. Do a presentation, setup a 50" tv and an Apple tv. Dock an iPod in your stereo and use the iPhone as a controller. Use iMessage on your phone, continue to text on the Macbook and finish off the conversation before bed on the iPad.

It just works. Thats what great about it. :) I use a normal call plan, and paid full price on the phone. But as I said in the beginning, its what you are used to, and its always going to be like Windows vs Mac OS, iphone vs android, job vs fastlane...:p

How do you dock an iPod and use the iPhone as the controller? I can do it with my laptop and iTunes - but that's about it.

Also, Spotify needs a remote app!
