A great story unfolding now...

Will Karen Huff Klein become the next millionaire?

Cliff notes...

1) Elderly woman gets verbally abused by a bunch of repugnant kids.
2) Incident is recorded and goes viral.
3) Someone volunteers to create a vacation fund for Karen as obviously, she could use one after this incident.(Initial goal was $5K)
4) Virality escalates
5) Story starts to pick up -- fund now exceeds $220K.

At the end of thirty days, it wouldn't shock me to see her become a millionaire.

A great story of how love and compassion can trump evil.

For the donation page, and the video footage, hit.

EDIT: For some reason I'm unable to post the link ... trying to figure out now.

When I was in 7th grade, a bunch of kids (and their parents) made our bus driver, a Vietnamese immigrant, cry and quit his job on the fourth day of school. The kids started making fun of him and he didn't seem to care, but he had a little scuffle with some of their ghetto-a$$ parents, who then cussed him out and told him to go back to whatever ching-chong country he was from. After the incident, he started driving erratically (he could have killed us and probably considered it) and the kids kept yelling at him, calling him a chink and telling him that he was a stupid hoe, or something. I was getting pissed off cuz I wanted to sleep. We arrived late and the driver told the principal that he couldn't do it anymore and said that he was quitting. In the afternoon, we got a new driver: an angry black lady who told us to sit the F*ck down and shut the F*ck up.

Moral of the story: kids are ruthless, but not for any reason besides thinking that it's fun. Problem is, adults can't kick the shit out of them because they are still kids.

$245k with 30 days to go! I can't wait to hear more about how this experience will impact her life. I hope she can retire in comfort for the rest of her days without having to worry about abuse from a**hole kids.

Yeah if that lady was black and a bit younger those kids wouldn't have harassed her

And this is because this was caught on tape. Every single day school kids and even adults are bullied.

I hope she can go on a vacation or better: retire.

This is what is wrong with the world today; no compassion, no understanding, no vicariousness what so ever, no nada. I should also add that these are Fastlane traits as well that will help you in your business.

Are you saying that having no compassion is a Fastlane trait or that HAVING compassion is a Fastlane trait? I'm confused.

Sorry about the syntax.

Breakdown:

1. Without compassion how the hell are you supposed to provide excellent customer service?

2. Without understanding how the hell are you supposed to know what people/consumers want or are experiencing?

3. Without vicariousness how in the hell are you supposed do both above?

Okay, that is what I assumed you meant, but I was just making sure. I agree entirely.

Over $500K, looks like Karen will not only be enjoying a vacation, but a comfy retirement.

She does not need to be in that position. I hope the school put stricter bus policies in place. I also hope she enjoys a nice retirement in South Beach.

If she's a bus monitor, doesn't she have the power to write kids up? Like, detentions, suspensions and shit? Unless she was actually physically scared, and if she was, she should have a gun. In my area, police officers ride the bus with the kids. You know, the kinds with guns, badges and blue uniforms.

One detail I love about this story is that she didn't want to press charges against the kids. What a great lady with a heart of gold. She deserves every dollar coming in her direction.

One day these kids will grow up and realize how poor their behavior was.

And I am happy that the bus monitor was able to earn a substantial amount of money from this, especially since she also did not press charges.

This lady looks like the average donor's mom. That's why it hits home so much. Most of our moms are overweight just like her and when we look at her, we see our mothers.

Either that or they will remain in that state of development in one way or another for the rest of their lives.

And right on cue out come the slowlane scarcity mindsetters:
Don't Take That Money, Bullied Bus Lady
As Jim Rohn said, "the perplexed will always be the perplexed."

Love the support she's getting and she deserves every penny. I haven't seen the video and won't watch it, but the story generally is reminiscent of the Louis CK skit on "first world problems." There are people dying every day around the world and people get up in arms about wifi outages on an airplane, Facebook changes or in the more "extreme" case, a few words thrown someone's way. Not hating on the fundraising on her behalf, but it's interesting what we, myself included, in the democratized western world think of as "harsh living conditions."
