Talk me Out!

I am a crossroad with myself, and I am deciding which direction will lead me to the best route of life. I am 18 years old, and been thinking about how I am going to make a lot of wealth; fast. I am deciding between these 2 options
1)

H1)Head to college> get a degree> get an MBA?... or get a degree in something livable. College is all in the air.


2) Go directly to stripping, then head into porn> become the top porn star within that first year; I am young, I am moderately good looking, and I will do whatever on camera… so I am sure I’ll get to the top. I’ll put out 3-6 films per week, and strip by night. But my focus will be on porn, and putting out as much as I can.
a. Then become an erotic author; sell books, put out 2-4 books per year.
b. Just branch out all over into different industries.
c. And a bunch of more ideas on how I can make more money
d. Be a model for music videos, host person, representative of the adult industry…
e. I also want to dabble into music, not expecting total mainstream success. But enough for an indie record label to pick me up.
f. At 40 “realistically†I’ll open my own strip club, the biggest one in California/New York, and perhaps porn studio. I can probably push this age to 45-50 if I really maintain my looks, and never get involve with the smoking/drinking/partying scene. I’ll get a few future technology procedures.
i. This will keep me wealthy till I retired from it all.

Now my question is, can you talk me out of my adult industry ideas??? I am waking up everyday, almost daily thinking about this, and being the best. I see this a very lucrative field, and I done my research on success stories like Jenna Jameson, Sasha Grey, and others. Everyone from the big studios are tested for the big diseases, and I am sure I could handle the minor sex diseases like crabs or something. I doubt I’ll get HIV, but it’s the risk I am willing to take by taking the probability into mind.


The only thing holding me back, is the future and if I’ll survive after the porn career is done.



But if I go porn, I’ll be making millions by the 2nd-3rd year since entering it. My family is accepting of it. I guess I can get a porn star boyfriend, or a very open minded man too. And if I play my cards right, I could be mega wealthy. And this profession intrigues me, and I think I could be happy... much more than other careers.


Talk me out, since I think I am literally insane to be considering this (for 2 years now), and I'll have to decide to go to college or not.

Have you gotten any advice from anyone directly in the industry? I own a surfing company and one of the best things I ever did was take a trip to So. Cal. and talk to the inventor/father of modern day skimboarding to learn how his industry grew/evolved.

Yea. I remember reading that the average female porn star makes about $5,000 per each scene which is a lot for less than an hours worth of work but it's not an every day thing not to mention also with porn, the more scenes you do the less viewers want to see of you; they're always looking for fresh meat; the porn stars who do a ton of scenes tend to lose favor amongst paying customers and are forced to retire before they even lose their looks or have to do more and more extreme scenes.

If this poster is for real then I'd like to point out to her that life isn't just about money; you have to respect and love yourself as well and I doubt you'll be able to do that if you go down the route of porn and the sex industry. Let's say you do this and you end up having kids; do you think they won't find your porn videos when they are old enough to surf the internet? Do you really want your son or daughter finding porn videos of you getting pummeled by 10 different guys at once?

Their classmates would find those same videos as well and insult your children for having a porn star as a mother. Jenna Jameson said she quit the industry because she recently had a baby and she didn't want to work in that industry for the sake of her kids; but it's already too late since she's shot those videos and nothing she can do will take them off the internet.

If you still think porn is a good idea then you should watch this two part Prime Time video of Belladonna who is one of the biggest porn stars of the last decade and see how emotionally damaged she is. It's clear she hates herself but she keeps doing porn in the same way that a drug addict keeps taking drugs even though they know it's whats screwing up their life:

But truly, porn IS way over saturated. On top of that, there are tons of free porn sites on the web, so I'm not sure how much longer you will be able to make a huge amount of money doing porn. I'm sure you can make a good six figures doing porn, but to make millions, you're going to have to seriously stick out. Sasha Grey is really the only young porn star I can think of that's been truly successful in quite a while. She gained popularity because of her public appearances on TV, such as the Tyra Banks show, and I believe she's starred in at least one hollywood movie. Yes, Jenna Jameson was very successful, but she practically created the porn industry. If you really want to do it, I'm sure you can find a way to make millions, but you probably can't make millions from porn alone. Best of luck to you, no matter what you decide to do!

Also, it doesn't look like you've thought about option one too much.

If you're actually for realz, then... I still don't think I'd bother. If you think you can rock the porn world and make it big, all the power to you. Just apply all the same things to it as you would anything else you want to make fastlane, because really... I don't know about you but having lots of money but no self respect would be worse than having your self respect with little money. If someone told me that they would give me a billion dollars to shoot a gay porn scene, I wouldn't do it. I won't trade my dignity for money, and that's not a jab at gay people but I'm not gay so I wouldn't respect myself if I went through with it.

The only positive aspects of the porn industry that Belladonna and other female porn stars could possibly have is the money and the attention, but the latter aspect is actually a negative thing since people know you for the wrong reasons.

To your point about there being plenty of dehumanizing jobs that people still work at every day for the money; isn't that the whole point of the fastlane? Starting your own business so that you never again have to do things because your boss wants you to; freeing yourself from the hamster wheel is key.

Yeah, well it totally depends on the person. I'm sure there are people that would love to shoot a gay porn scene for a billion bucks. Some pornstars feel like they gain respect, Sasha Grey as a noticeable example. I definitely respect her, not because of her work in porn, but her overall attitude and drive to succeed.

And yes, that is exactly the point of the fastlane. The slowlane still exists, though, and there are plenty of people who use it.

It's a guarenteed "last resort" win like the golden gun in golden eye. There is no failing. If by somehow you fail that's it for you, because there's little else you can do.

Good point! In this age of google searches where anything you've done that's grabbed attention in your life is easily searched, you can't go back to a normal life if you go into porn. Businesses routinely use google before hiring potential employees to see if they've got any dirt in their background that they haven't revealed in the interview and the porn videos and images will definitely come up if someone does a search since their fake names are also linked to their real names as people tend to out them a lot, especially on wikipedia.

That's the "weird" part of it all, since I could care less about doing those graphic acts as long as I know the viewers enjoy it and I am satisfied with the end result; money and publicity. I am not a whore right now as well, since well personal details aside, I haven't done much besides kissing. I just want wealth... Prostitutes are not the same as porn stars, they are doing it for the clients, and the porn stars are doing it for the viewers.

The reason is, the films I plan to release are going to be the most disgusting in the industry, by far. I am going to push the envelope, to the max, even for porn standards. Sasha Grey already done 200-something films, and she's in her early 20s. She isn't going away anytime soon, and she's branching out.... not to extreme success, but standards to average person she's gone far.

The webcam girls, are not the same as the porn studio girls. If that was the case, then ALL musicians would be out of business because of the youtube people. The markets evolve and change with time.

Basically I want a lot of capital to work with.... I want some fame. But it's not the end road for me, just the beginning.

And if I go to college, for the undergrad only, I see myself stuck at a lame job for an employee.
And if I go to grad school, I'll be financially successful, but there's still some risks. I won't go beyond 500 k, unless I am a business owner.

If I do porn, focus on that, and then branch out I'll be the porn queen, studios, strip clubs... I'll be the biggest porn ruler by 2020. And all the merchandise. I am going to bring it mainstream unlike ever before.

Plus I think I am happy doing that, and could make nice living.
