It means they’re going to stop artificially propping up the financial markets with low interest rates and money printed to keep prices up.
Probably because everyone realizes how bad inflation is getting.
I wrote about monetary policy levers a while ago, will copy/paste. Same thing applies in Europe as I write about Canada.
Asset purchases are just another word for QE below.
