I'm from Santa Clara. Something unique... the area wasn't always known Silicon Valley but Valley of Heart's Delight. When my husband was a boy, there were orchards near his house and they could pick and eat the wild greens that grew there. The orchards are now gone and replaced by houses, condos and apartments.

Raised and reside in the N'west Burbs(currently own the house I grew up in).

Spent ages 18-23 at school down in the "heartland" first in Terre Haute, IN(Rose-Hulman) and then Champaign(U of I)

Also spent 5 wonderful months in Vienna, Austria which included seeing most of W. Europe and the historical landmarks such as the official Ferrari, Mercedes, Porsche and BMW Museums :yourock:

then again, I also live near Lake Zurich, IL and Lake Geneva, WI... both of which I visited the real ones for which they were named in Switzerland :coolgleamA:

also got to see the hill in Rome, Palatino, for which the town I have lived almost my entire life(Palatine), was named after.
