Why, eh?
1. Because I see every day just how shitty the other option is. I've seen family members rip each other apart(metaphorically) for chump change. I see my mother worry non-stop because she barely makes ends meet. It's no way to live. Because I can't afford most things I want. I want to play the piano - too expensive. I want to ride a motorcycle - too expensive. Vacation? Too expensive. The list just goes on.

If there's one stupid thing no one should have to worry, it's money.

2. Even more importantly, because I've seen what the fastlane can do. I've seen that there's a better option. Even if I wanted to, there's no going back, ever. The second I understood I have a better choice, that it's available to ME, the slowlane stopped being a choice.
