I dress simply and buy only clothes that I will wear even after 5 years.
In the past I tend to buy trendy clothes to look cool and be part of the crowd but back then I was just a teenager. I wasted some money on trendy clothes though that I just donated in the end.
Now I mostly buy Polos and T-shirts and Slimmed Jeans. I noticed that if I dress well (even if it's simple) it increases my confidence and doesn't make me feel like a total stranger.
I buy additional clothes ONLY if it's required on a certain location.
Overall, I dress simply to have more confidence in myself, but not too savvy that I started to shift on pleasing others.
