Using Cursor AI Efficiently

I've been using Curosor AI to code with Kotlin and React as a UX professional. While it's a very useful IDE, it can be costly during intensive usage. I'm on the pro plan ($20/mo offering 500 fast premium requests/mo) One way to mitigate this is to provide better context to Cursor. Here's what I've been doing to not waste premium requests.

1. Set up '.cursorrules'. Context is more important than the prompt itself very often. When I started using it, I kept ending up in a loop of bugs and it producing code that created unintended outcomes because it could not grasp the context properly or fogot key info. To avoid this use a .cursorrules file in your root folder. Here's Cursor's documention on it: Cursor - Build Software Faster
2. Set up .cursorrules file based on existing ones that already work. Here are some: https://cursor.directory
3. Track repetitive bugs and instruct inside .cursorrules accordingly to stop them from showing up in the future
