Looking for advice from anyone who has scaled an app using UGC.
I currently have an app live, but I haven’t put any real marketing dollars behind it yet. Most of my traction so far has come from ASO, and my social accounts are basically starting from zero.
In the past, I’ve usually tried to grow apps through organic content myself, but doing that solo is extremely time-consuming. This time, I’m considering going straight into UGC so I can focus more on distribution, product improvement, testing offers, and scaling rather than spending all my time coming up with viral content ideas.
For those who have done this before:
Is starting with UGC before building my own organic content engine a good idea, or should I build some content myself first to understand what works?
How do you usually brief creators without over-controlling the creative?
Are you posting the same UGC across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook, or do you edit/platform-native each one?
Do you let creators post on their own accounts, post only on the brand account, or both?
What posting frequency has worked best for you when starting from zero?
Do you leave a delay between posting the same creative on different platforms, or post everywhere at once?
How many creators/videos would you test before deciding whether UGC is working?
What are the biggest mistakes you made when trying to scale with UGC?
Any advice, frameworks, or examples would be appreciated.
